Re: December! Whatcha reading?

I started reading Shonda Rhimes' "Year of Yes" back in the spring...I actually found it annoying because you can tell that she basically just spoke into a recorder and had someone just type it up...so even though what she's saying is wonderful, it makes for difficult reading. But, I plan t...

I am almost finished with She Got Up Off the Couch by Haven Kimmel (a sequel/follow-up to A Girl Named Zippy, which I never read :worry ) After this I will likely go back to cheating on my books with magazines.

I'm reading Color and Money, which talks about affirmative action and elite college admissions. I'm reading it partly for business, partly for pleasure - good stuff.

I just bought, Such a Pretty Fat by Jen Lancaster who also writes a blog jennsylvania.com. So far, it is pretty good. Okay, do you have to have read her other books or follow her blog in order to appreciate it? If so, I will have to wait until I get through her first book, which is still sitting on...

Re: JUne now.. What you reading?

I just finished Love you to pieces: creative writers on raising a child with special needs. It was very good. Very honest. At times, I didn't want to put it down because I was just enthralled but other times I had to put it down because the stories were so raw, it was hard to read. Loved it. Oh wow...

I'm reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. It's good so far, but I'm already slightly regretting the decision to read it ... I just know that a lot of horrible things are going to happen and it will make me sad. That is an OUTSTANDING book. While it's certainly not "feel good&quo...

I'm reading Shoot the Moon by Billie Letts. Oh I love Billie Letts - how is it? I am reading Brother, I'm Dying by Edwidge Danticat, one of my faaaaavorite authors. This isn't gripping me the way her books usually do - maybe because it's memoir and not fiction. In any case, it's still a good read.
