Finished One of Us is Lying. I liked it ok. I kind of figured out what was going like halfway through though.
Next up is Need to Know which is a spy thriller.

Re: No March thread yet?
Finished The Last Mrs Parrish by Liv Constantine. The writing was just cringe inducing at times. Wouldn't really recommend, can't figure out how it's on so many must read lists.
I think I'm starting One of us is Lying at lunch. I'll let you know my thoughts, Sil.

Finished Fire and Fury - Inside the Trump White House. It was about what you would expect - basically the White House is a hot mess.
I'm almost done with The Last Mrs Parrish by Liv Constantine. It's OK. The writing is annoying me a little bit.

Finished The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani - was disappointed with the ending. So many loose ends.
I'm just about done with Fire and Fury - Inside the Trump White House. It's terrifying and hilarious all at once.

Finished River of Teeth - it was ridiculous and fun. I liked it.
I'm about halfway through The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani which I believe was translated from French.
Sil, I just got a notification that The Immortalists is on the hold shelf for me.

Re: February! What are you reading?
Finished The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert - I really loved this book. It's about a teenager named Alice - her grandmother is a famous author, who wrote a book of dark fairy tales set in a mythical world called the Hinterland - but the world is real. Plus the cover is GORGEOUS. Next up is River of Te...

Re: February! What are you reading?
I never read the Golden Compass trilogy but I bet he will be fine. However I'm with Spudd in that I was reading adult books (It, Flowers in the Attic, etc) way younger than I should have been. I'll generally let Jake read anything he's interested in if it means he's going to read. I just finished An...

Our Lady of the Prairie was not good. I skimmed a lot, waaaay to much detail about stuff that didn’t matter.

I just thought it was all connected too conveniently at the end I guess, Sil. I liked the book but it didn't wow me.
Blush I was super disappointed in Mrs. Fletcher as well. I usually really like his books.

Re: February! What are you reading?
Reading droughts are the worst, Rowan. :sadpanda I just finished reading This Could Hurt by Jillian Medoff. It is about a group of workers that are struggling to find their place in a bad economy and end up hiding their bosses illness to keep her job and theirs. Some of it was just ridiculous. It wa...

Re: January 2018!! What are you reading?
Red Clocks by Leni Zumas - I ended up really loving this book. The writing is intentionally choppy so it's something you'd have to be in the right mood to read it, I think. I'm about halfway through The Cruel Prince by Holly Black - It's about mortals living among faeries in their world, which coexi...

Re: January 2018!! What are you reading?
Finished The Job of the Wasp by Colin Winnette - what a weird book. It was a mystery/thriller that never truly made sense. It was short so I kept reading but it never really came together. I'm about halfway through Red Clocks by Leni Zumas - It's a dystopian novel - abortion is illegal in the US, in...

Bonfire by Krysten Ritter - Decent. It wandered a bit in the middle but was good, quick read.

Re: January 2018!! What are you reading?
The Vanishing Season by Joanna Schaffhausen - it was decent. I figured out what was going on about halfway through. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman - pretty sure I'm going against the grain but I HATED this book. Eleanor, as a character, is completely unrealistic. So many things...

Rowan, Artemis is not on par with The Martian by any stretch of the imagination. But it was a fun read.
I enjoyed Heather, The Totality but also don't get the major buzz. I think it's because of the author since he wrote Mad Men.
