Re: May
I finished The Mandibles by Lionel Shriver. Honestly, kind of hated it. It struck me as a Republican rant thinly disguised as a story.
Re: April!
The Mandibles strikes me as a personal political statement book and I don't know how I feel about that. Also, there's too much financial talk, and I'm generally into financial shit! All in all it started off really strong and now I'm just slogging through. Sadly I recommended it to my friend when I ...
Re: April!
I finished All the Broken Places by John Boyne the other day. I loved it so much.
Now I started The Mandibles by Lionel Shriver. So far I also love it.

Re: March!
I ended up bailing on The Passenger (Cormac McCarthy). It was too heavy going for me. I switched to "All the Broken Places" by John Boyne. So far I'm really enjoying it (I'm probably like 25% into it).
Re: March!
I don't think you need to re-read The Shining. I didn't, though I did watch the movie about a year ago.
Re: March!
I recently finished Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. I enjoyed it. It's the sequel to The Shining.
I started The Passenger by Cormac McCarthy last night. It's way too early to tell if I'll like it.

Re: February!
I finished "Scarlet", and it was just OK. Wouldn't really recommend it.
Now I'm reading Doctor Sleep by Stephen King. I'm only like one chapter in, so it's too soon to say whether it's going to be good.

Re: January!
I finished a book a few days ago and forgot to report on it here, and now I've completely forgotten what it was. I should have reported back on it sooner! Now I'm reading "Scarlet" which is a YA futuristic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. I'm finding it pretty meh so far, but it's not ...
Re: December!
I read 2001 when I was in university. I think it was ok, I don't honestly remember much about it. I finished Catcher in the Rye and found the ending unsatisfying but overall I liked it. Now I started The Lincoln Highway, by Amos someone. I'm having a hard time getting into it but am intrigued, so we...
Re: December!
I'll take a feathery stroker over the opposite, which I experienced once. He stroked so hard, it felt horrible! It also did not progress to sex because it was so horrible. I probably would have, I had that intention. But had to nope out.
Re: December!
I just started Catcher in the Rye. Haven't read it since grade 10. So far I'm really enjoying it.
Re: November
I bought her new one for 99 cents on Amazon but the one you liked was 7.99 and that was too rich for my blood.
Re: November
Silvia, I'm honestly finding it very cheesy and like a cheap romance novel. But it's an easy read and is entertaining enough, so I'll stick with it.
Blush, have you read Replay by Ken Grimwood? or Time and Again by Jack Finney? Both I would recommend.
My library has no ebooks by Bethany Clift.

Re: November
I'm reading "Book Lovers", I forget who it's by. It's about a literary agent, rom-com. The setup is cute but the writing is a bit ham-handed, so I'm not sure if I'll like it. I'm only a little ways in so far.
Re: October
There was a non-fiction book on investing that I had in between the last book I mentioned on here and this one, but it was not good so I won't bother to mention it. I just started "The Immortalists" by Chloe Benjamin. So far it's pretty good, but I've only just read the first 2 chapters an...
Re: October
I finished "The Marriage Plot" by Jeffrey Eugenides. Overall, it was a bit meandering but I liked the beginning and the ending. I would give it 3.5 stars.
Re: September
Spudd - you could always download the kindle app onto your phone. It will sync between devices. I don't like to charge my kindle so I don't leave the wifi turned on, so it wouldn't have worked while we were away. I have considered turning it on for the syncing but I feel like I would use it so rare...
Re: September
I didn't finish the Menopause Manifesto yet but I forgot to bring my Kindle with me to the States for our weekend trip, so I grabbed a book out of one of those Little Free Libraries. It's "The Marriage Plot" by Jeffrey Eugenides. So far it's really good, but I'm only a little ways in.
Re: September
Kenneth has tried to read the Count at least twice since I've known him. He gets halfway through and then he can't take it anymore.
I'm reading the Menopause Manifesto. It is making me want to do hormone replacement therapy.

Re: August!
I just finished Five Total Strangers by Natalie Richardson (or something similar for author name - book name is definitely right). It was a page-turner for sure, and an easy read. Would recommend for vacation reading. If I had to give it stars, I'd probably give it 3/5 because it was a bit... I dunn...
