March - what are you reading?

So....still haven't cracked my book open yet this week. Working/adulting is really getting in the way.

If I could share how dirty my house is....ugh. Winter hockey is almost over and I should have a break for a bit until spring hockey and lax picks up.

Re: February! What are you reading?

I have 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne next on my pile.

Feb was a light month for me and reading. I did just recently re-read Stephen King's book On Writing. I can't believe it's nearly 20 years old. He doesn't plot at all!

Re: February! What are you reading?

There's a LOT of buzz about that book Syl. I'll be curious to hear what you think. It's self published so not in libraries. :(

I'm reading Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney and liking it.

I read The Other Woman by Sandie Jones this weekend which was pretty good plus it was a fast read.

Re: January 2019 - what are you reading?!?

I'm reading Freefall by Jessica Barry which I'm liking.

Syl -- how about some easy-ish historical fiction? I recently loved The Address and The Masterpiece both by Fiona Davis. Both are NY settings.

Re: Best books you read in 2018?

Spudd - I definitely suggest watching You anyway. I tend not to remember books so that might help me but the whole family is enjoying the series.

Re: January 2019 - what are you reading?!?

I didn't love An Anonymous Girl. I liked the first half but thought the second half was weirdly rushed.

I read The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas which was good. Quick read.

Not sure what's next on the pile. Either Sometimes I Lie or The Other Woman.

Re: January 2019 - what are you reading?!?

I'm halfway through An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I usually don't like 2 authors as I can tell the different voices but these 2 work really well with each other. Really enjoying this -- i was in a bit of a reading rut but I think i'm out. :wave

Re: January 2019 - what are you reading?!?

I used to be put off by her beach-y covers, but this is my third book by her and they're right up my alley :crystal I still have no intention of reading anything heavier. I'm of the mind to never apologize for what you are reading, ever. You're reading. I get into YA moods and often these are girly...

Re: December! What are you reading?

Maybe some fluffy YA Syl? Not sure if you dig that stuff but I really liked the Jenny Han trilogy (To All the Boys I've Loved Before). Over Christmas I read: My Sister, the Serial Killer (which I liked) and When Life Give You Lululemons (which I didn't but knew I wouldn't so not sure why I even read...

Re: December! What are you reading?

I've had a book hangover from The Masterpiece and haven't picked up anything in a week. :? Part of it is that I've had to work every night this week. Hopefully I can kick myself out of it this weekend.

Blush -- I liked Ready Player One but not as much as "everyone else". Enjoy!

December! What are you reading?

I read The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis this weekend. I really liked it. It's about Grand Central Terminal and has 2 narratives: 1920s and 1970s. I love learning about something when I read fiction.

I have Scythe by Neal Shusterman next.

I read The Nowhere Girls this weekend - YA that I really liked. Easy read.

I started The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory last night. It's a really quick read - fluffy - I think I'll like it.

I finished Nine Perfect Strangers and while it went quickly, I didn't really enjoy it. Maybe my expectations were too high --Syl YMMV.

Re: November?! What are you reading?

syl- If you like Rebecca, you should look at The Winters by Lisa Gabriele which is a modern retelling that I heard about on a podcast. Haven't read either so can't personally vouch for them. I love Seven Husbands -- it's my go-to recommend to people this year. Hope you like it. I'm reading Liane Mor...

I have The Man in the Basement by Walter Mosley in my work bag. I haven't started it yet - but hopefully later.
