Re: January 2019 - what are you reading?!?

I'm halfway through An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. I usually don't like 2 authors as I can tell the different voices but these 2 work really well with each other. Really enjoying this -- i was in a bit of a reading rut but I think i'm out. :wave

Re: January 2019 - what are you reading?!?

I used to be put off by her beach-y covers, but this is my third book by her and they're right up my alley :crystal I still have no intention of reading anything heavier. I'm of the mind to never apologize for what you are reading, ever. You're reading. I get into YA moods and often these are girly...

Re: December! What are you reading?

Maybe some fluffy YA Syl? Not sure if you dig that stuff but I really liked the Jenny Han trilogy (To All the Boys I've Loved Before). Over Christmas I read: My Sister, the Serial Killer (which I liked) and When Life Give You Lululemons (which I didn't but knew I wouldn't so not sure why I even read...

Re: December! What are you reading?

I've had a book hangover from The Masterpiece and haven't picked up anything in a week. :? Part of it is that I've had to work every night this week. Hopefully I can kick myself out of it this weekend.

Blush -- I liked Ready Player One but not as much as "everyone else". Enjoy!

December! What are you reading?

I read The Masterpiece by Fiona Davis this weekend. I really liked it. It's about Grand Central Terminal and has 2 narratives: 1920s and 1970s. I love learning about something when I read fiction.

I have Scythe by Neal Shusterman next.

I read The Nowhere Girls this weekend - YA that I really liked. Easy read.

I started The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory last night. It's a really quick read - fluffy - I think I'll like it.

Re: November?! What are you reading?

I finished Nine Perfect Strangers and while it went quickly, I didn't really enjoy it. Maybe my expectations were too high --Syl YMMV.

Re: November?! What are you reading?

syl- If you like Rebecca, you should look at The Winters by Lisa Gabriele which is a modern retelling that I heard about on a podcast. Haven't read either so can't personally vouch for them. I love Seven Husbands -- it's my go-to recommend to people this year. Hope you like it. I'm reading Liane Mor...

Re: October! What are you reading?

I finished The Skies Belong to Us - it was ok. Not sure I would recommend it. I also read some organizational type book this weekend which taught me nothing. :| I read Waiting for Eden which wasn't up to the hype. *sigh* I have a small pile waiting for me and I hesitate to grab anything at this poin...

Re: October! What are you reading?

I finished Dry by Neal and Jarrod Schusterman which I really liked. Water dries up in CA - people start rioting, etc. I think it's YA. I started The Skies Belong to Us which is a non-fiction book about the plane hijacking era of the 60s and 70s before there was any security at airports. So far so go...

I'm reading a YA book, To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. It's part of a trilogy and is also on Netflix. So far so good.

I read Atomic City Girls by Janet Beard this weekend and I really liked it. I'm enjoying historical fiction lately.

Re: September: what are you reading?

I read Vox by Christina Dalcher which is a dystopian novel in which females can only speak 100 words a day. I liked the beginning half but then they started talking science and it wasn't sound science so it sorta turned me off.

Not sure what's next....

Re: September: what are you reading?

I read Smothered by Autumn Chiklis this weekend (daughter of the main character of The Shield). It had great buzz but I didn't like it. I've had a few 2 star books lately which is a bummer. :(

I have a few library books left in my pile so not sure what will be next.

Re: September: what are you reading?

Spudd -- I thought they did a surprisingly good job on the movie but yeah...the book is better. The science is right on too. I'm reading the new Mary Kubica which is good but there's an insomnia part to it and I can't imagine not trying to sleep or going to a dr or something. I'm only 50 pages in so...

Re: August! What are you reading?

I just finished The Wife by Alafair Burke which I really liked.

I'm currently reading Emergency Contact by Mary HK Choi. It's a YA novel but it's very well written. So far so good. Hope I'm not disappointed later.
