Re: July 2025
I read Under the Dome for Stephen King Summer. It is LONG. It took me about 9 days to read at 1000+ pages. I actually liked it better than I expected but didn't love the ending. It hasn't been a great month in terms of quality. I'm ranging in the 2-3.5 stars all month. I read the latest Riley Sager ...
July 2025
I finished Peter Swanson's new one, Kill Your Darlings. Do not recommend - totally phoned in and the ending sucked.
I have It's a Love Story by Annabel Monaghan up next. A romance sounds good right about now.
I also have Riley Sager's latest waiting for me in my stack.
Re: June 2025
I'll have to check out Migrations as i really loved Wild Dark Shore by her. I finished The Shining for my Stephen King Summer book club tomorrow. I started The Eights about the first enrolled women at Cambridge in the 1920s. It was a little slow to get into but now it's really good! I have the newes...
Re: June 2025
Blush -- you'll have to tell me how you like Migrations. I loved Wild Dark Shore so much I've been wanting to check out the author's backlist. I'm reading a bit of smut -- Deep End by Ali Hazelwood. I just wanted something a bit light as I've read some really great heavy books lately. I have Atmosph...
Re: June 2025
I can vouch for the new Julie Clark. It was good - not my fave of hers but definitely good. I'm dying to read the new TJR but I hesitate to buy it because I think I'm fairly early on the library hold list. I may break down and buy it because I have 2 friends that want to read it together. I think I'...
Re: May 2025
That's really smart Blush. It's weird though - I have real trouble with large print. I'm not sure why.
I'm buying way too many books lately...I have to hold myself back from getting this one. It will come in soon.

Re: May 2025
Oh and part of the reason that I subscribed to BOTM was for the new Taylor Jenkins Reid that comes out on Tuesday and it's not a June pick.
Piss me off -- I really hope I'm early in the library hold line. I got in line months ago but I can't tell my position.
Re: May 2025
I finished This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead which really isn't a great title. I really liked it - true crime/amateur detectives story. I have The Ghostwriter by Julie Clark as an ARC which comes out next Tuesday. I should probably get to that to read/review it before it comes out. LOL
Re: May 2025
I'm currently reading Jane and Dan at the End of the World by Colleen Oakley. It's about a couple celebrating their anniversary at a fancy restaurant and terrorists take over the restaurant comedy ensues. It's good.
Looks like lots of rain this long weekend. That means lots of reading!

Re: May 2025
Silvia - I have not read that but I will need to. I really loved Wild Dark Shore. Blush - I saw you put Shopgirls by Jessica Anya Blau as want to read on your goodreads. I just finished it and didn't really love it. You should look at the summary of Mary Jane - that one I LOVED. I have the new Kevin...
Re: May 2025
Spudd - I loved The Great Believers. What a great book. So sad but wonderfully written.
Re: May 2025
I started Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy last night and really really liking it!
Re: May 2025
I really liked The Names. Premise is basically does a name predetermine the person you become. Woman goes to name her son and is hesitant to name him the family name Gordon after her husband and FIL who are basically assholes. There are 3 name options and you see the man/family through the lens of t...
Re: May 2025
I finished the new Emily Henry and I really liked it. 4 stars!! I subscribed to Book of the Month for a few months for Mother's Day to get a few super new releases that I am so behind in the holds list. Such an expense as I never buy new books! I just got: The Names - Florence Knapp Broken Country -...

Re: April 2025
I finished Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix in less than 24 hours. I really enjoyed it -- 4.5 stars. There was some pretty graphic descriptions of childbirth and I had a csection so I was like --- THAT'S what happens? LOL
Not sure what's next...have to go to my library pile.

Re: April 2025
As mentioned in the main board, I am on a streak of meh books. The last 5 books I've read at 3 star. I might have to go for backlist because I believe these have been all new releases. I mean 3 stars is fine but I want to be wow'd. Oh, I lied Our Last Resort by Clemence Michallon was 4 stars. Last 5...

Re: March 2025
Thanks Silvia - of course a bunch of library books came in so that one got pushed back. LOL I read The Note by Alafair Burke this weekend. I liked the premise but it ended up being something entirely different and really pretty cookie cutter and tied up with a bow. Not recommended. I'm still working...
