Re: It's February - what are you reading?

Definitely read Beat the Reaper first. I really liked it. The dialog is just great.

Re: It's February - what are you reading?

Funny Syl. I've always been a fast reader. Also consider that it was the weekend so I was able to spend some time Fri night reading and finished it Sat AM. Finished Bond Girl yesterday. There's a ton of hype about this one. It was good fun Chick Lit but certainly not new or earth shattering. Quick a...

Re: It's February - what are you reading?

Finished 11/22/63. I liked it.

I started Bond Girl by Erin Duffy. I'm only 20 pgs in so I really don't know what to expect. Although a little fluff after 850 pgs of King will be a nice change.

Re: It's February - what are you reading?

I'm still on 11/22/63 - pp 460 or so. I really like it but it's so huge I hate lugging it around. This would have been a perfect book for the Kindle.

It's February - what are you reading?

I'm about 150 pgs into 11/22/63 by Stephen King. I'm pretty into it so we'll see how the rest of the 700 pages go. :)

Re: It's January - what are you reading?

I totally hear you on King. It makes me sad that its so hit and miss. I love a good Kennedy controversy so thought I would give it a shot. We'll see...

I have The Informationist on my TBR list - I'll have to move it up the list at your recommendation. Wasn't the author raised in some crazy cult?

Re: It's January - what are you reading?

I finished Robin Cook's latest this weekend. It is officially the last of his books I will ever read. They've gotten worse over time but the story was boring, he's overly wordy to a point of pompousness and downright wrong in some of the science/medical education items he writes about. I like readin...

Loved "....Kevin". Well, "loved" is the wrong word but I'm really glad I read it! Wow.

Re: It's January - what are you reading?

Finished "Fat Vampire" - meh.

I started "We Need to Talk About Kevin" by Lionel Shriver yesterday. I had tried reading it before but couldn't get into it. Now I'm hooked - can't wait to read more.

Boo mellen! What a bummer that they did that and didn't give you warning. I was looking forward to your list too - I'm always so impressed with the breadth of your reading choices.

Re: It's January - what are you reading?

Bev,

As a scientist (who's actually worked with HeLa back in the day) I was really excited to read the book but I honestly was disappointed in it. Not trying to discourage you from finishing it because I'm glad I read it but I really didn't like the tone she took with the family.

Anyway....

Re: It's January - what are you reading?

Look at all the friends we have here! :hyper

Right now I'm reading Fat Vampire - a silly YA novel about a teenage vampire who got turned in his "awkward stage" and no one can believe he's really a vampire. Just fun and silly.

Re: 2011 Book Lists

I've kept a handwritten book journal since 2003. At the end of the year, I also convert it to an Excel file.

I like to keep track of what I've read, liked, etc.

Anna, if you get in 50-60 pages you'll be hooked. It took me 3 tries to get started.

It's January - what are you reading?

I'm working my way through the Kathy Reichs Temperance Brennan series. Just finished Grave Secrets. Can't remember the next one - I just know it has a yellow cover. :)

Edited to add title: Bare Bones.
