Re: It's June - what are you reading?

I read 50 Shades of Grey. Meh. I didn't really think it was all that. I can really see the Edward/Bella dom/sub story within the story which was interesting. What really annoyed me was everytime she described something she ended with oh my... Really 22 yo women wouldn't use that phrase. Maybe a 50 y...

Re: It's June - what are you reading?

Ooh! Tell me about Canada when you get to it, I was just reading about it.

And speaking of Canada, what's up with the crazy psycho killer guy? I thought US had all the crazies! I heard he's hiding out in Blush's neck of the woods.

It's June - what are you reading?

3 pages last month ladies....exciting!

I read The Skinny Rules by Bob Harper. I don't know why I keep reading diet books, they all are pretty much the same.

Next is 50 Shades. I really need to read it at home so I don't get weird looks.

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

Finished the Jen Lancaster book which was good. Not my fave of hers but I laughed out loud a few times.

I read Delirium yesterday. I liked it but I think I need a break from YA for a bit. I need to hit the library tonight. And the wine store for wine to prepare for the upcoming week.

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

I know this is books but I figure I brought up Germany here so thought I would post a pic. This is the view from my hotel room. It's really gorgeous there. I finished Crossed by Ally Condie on the plane. I'm reading Jennifer Lancaster's latest. It's ok, I just wonder how many memoirs a 40 something ...

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

On the plane I read "Crossed" by Ally Condie which was ok, it's the first in the serious and YA but not as good as Divergent/Hunger Games. I'll read the 2nd in the series though. I also finished Escape by Barbara Delinsky (meh, it was ok but super predictable) last night while being driven...

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

mellen, I didn't know it was Little Red Riding Hood. Cool. I like that she put the expected dates of the books on the inside of Cinder with the titles. I finished Imaginary Girls and literally had to force myself to finish it. I didn't like it and don't recommend it. Meh. Matched is sitting in the c...

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

Spudd, you've read Divergent right? That's one you really want to have read book 1. Yay! Glad people are liking Cinder!!! I'm still in reading limbo as this week is crazy. I did upload 5 books to my Kindle from the library so I can just take that to Germany with me. Unfortunately they aren't necessa...

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

Welcome Skye! I just finished Insurgent and loved it....can't wait for the next one.

I'm halfway through Imaginary Girls, it's now overdue and I'm torn between finishing it. I'm in my meeting hell week so don't have a lot of time to read this week. *sigh* I guess I'll just bring it back...

Yay! I'm glad you're finally into Dragon Tattoo.

Excited to see Cinder on your library pick up list. Hope you like it. I loved it!

Started Insurgent last night....so good!

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

Someone at work let me borrow Insurgent from her (library loan) since my library doesn't have it. Yay!!!! Can't wait to start it tonight.

I also am going to start working my way through The Beck Diet Solution. I need to work on the mind connection of weight maintenance to

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

mellen, I had to bring only that trilogy on a trip to Germany with me so I only had that to read. I had to get into nearly 70 pages or so but then I was hooked.

Sad that I had to force myself to read it but it really was worth it.

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

Annie, I didn't say this (but maybe it was implied) but I loved the trilogy and would hate for you to miss out. They are hard to read and I had to take breaks between the books because they were so heavy.

M wants me to put this in...

I am to please....

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

Annie, I don't want to discourage you from ...Played with Fire but I really wouldn't read it without reading ....Dragon Tattoo. The movie did a decent job of staying true to the book *but* there's so much more in the book than in the movie. Still reading Imaginary Girls. Not loving it really but I'm...

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

I *loved* Cinder. If you like ,YA it's a must read! Don't let the cyborg description turn you off...it's not very cyborg-y. :) I read a few other books on vacation. The Night Following - Morag Joss; strange little book about a woman who has a hit and run accident and what she does afterwards Beneath...

Re: It's May! What are you reading?

I started Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I'm on a YA kick these days if you haven't noticed. I've heard great things about this one. Bottom line: Cinder = cyborg Cinderella. I'm about 1/3 of the way through and am really liking it. I thought the cyborg stuff would be too scifi for me but not. I'm off for ...

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

Get anything good Mellen? I finished Blood Red Road by Moira Young. It's a dystopian YA. I liked it but it was no Divergent. Because the language is a bit different (slangy, "unedu-mi-cated") it took a bit to get into but then you get into the swing of it. Hopefully I don't start using the...
