Re: Its April - what are you reading?
I just finished Critical. It wasn't one of Robin Cook's best that's for sure. It seemed to be written hastily.
I finally got Beautiful Boy from the library but I don't know if I"m in the mood for a sad book. We'll see.

Re: Its March - what are you reading?
I finished The First Patient and it was just ok. Not one of the author's best. I'm reading The Secret Between Us by Barbara Delinsky. I like it so far. The story is basically a mother/daughter hit a pedestrian and the mother takes the fall even though the daughter was driving. Very Jodi Picoult-ish.

Its March - what are you reading?
I'm reading The First Patient by Michael Palmer. I generally like his medical thrillers. This one is a bit slow but I"m only 50 pages in.
I recently finished a few books by Chris Bohjalian, Midwives and Law of Similars. They were both great. I'll definitely pick up more by him.

Beverly - I bow down to you in having any time in your life right now to read.
*shakes head*
I just finished Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst - it was ok. REally short. Not sure what's up next. I literally just finished it.

Silvia - I did like Lake. Definitely worth my time.
I'm reading Gravedigger's Daughter by Joyce Carol Oates. I like it but its way depressing....my reading speed has definitely slowed because of it.

I'm reading Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman. Its about a school for girls (on a lake obviously) where some of the students have drowned both years ago and present day and how these 2 instances are linked. I like it.
I need to get to the library today to stock up again.

Re: Its Jan 2008 - what are you reading?
I'm reading Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood. It is *so* good. We had to read Handmaid's Tale senior year of high school which was just weird so I just assumed I didn't like her writing. I'm glad I tried her again (18 years later!)

Re: Its Jan 2008 - what are you reading?
LB - Shoot the Moon was good. Definitely worth a read. I just finished The Post-Birthday World. It was so good - I highly recommend it. The story splits off into 2 parts after the first chapter where a woman in a relationship has the opportunity to cheat on her partner. The following chapters are do...
Re: 2007 List
I've been doing lists for a few years now. I just track it in a nice bound notebook - it'll probably take the rest of my life to fill it up. I decided to transcribe them into Excel so I could sort by author, etc. I feel like its a constant struggle to find good books. Start a list Spudd - its the be...

I did read it. I guess I missed it when I was making my spreadsheet.

Some of my new favorites this year are Tawni O'Dell, David Ellis, Elizabeth Lowell and Peter Abrahams. Rating Title Author 2.5 Thursdays at Eight Debbie Macomber 3 Survivo...

Finished Twilight. I think I'll read the other 2 books in the series. You can tell they're young adult but well written nonetheless. I also whipped through Water for Elephants. If I'm not the only one out there that hasn't read it, I highly recommend it. Interesting to read about train circus and an...
