Re: June!

I forgot to post that I finished Where The Heart Is by Billie Letts and really quite enjoyed it. That was maybe 4-5 days ago, not sure.

Now I'm reading Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Re: June!

I finished Rogue Lawyer by John Grisham. It was pretty crappy. Though I did sort of like the ending.

Now I'm reading "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts. So far, so good.

Re: May!

I finished Project Hail Mary. Absolutely loved it. Best book I've read in years.

Now I'm reading "Rogue Lawyer" by John Grisham. Not even in the same ballpark, LOL.

Re: May!

I finished What the Psychic Told the Pilgrim and wasn't a big fan.

Now I'm reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and loving it so far (though I do have a bit of trouble suspending my disbelief).

Re: April! (the month not the person)

Mr Mercedes was not horribly violent, for the most part. There was some, but not a great deal. I probably will read the whole trilogy but not all at once. I'm now reading "What the Psychic told the Pilgrim" which is a non-fiction about a woman walking the Camino de Santiago. Which is the s...

Kenneth fixed it, I'm back in business. Woo!

Almost done with Mr Mercedes. Would recommend. It's really quite compelling.

Re: April! (the month not the person)

My library DRM stripper has stopped working. My method for reading books was to put them on hold at the library, then when they come in, I borrow them and strip the DRM so there's no time limit to read them. Then after I read them, I delete them. It's a bit shady but not horrible. But now it's not w...

Re: February!

I never finished Habit Swap, because I read before bed, and after I got through the first little bit, it told me to meditate. I can't meditate in bed. And I can't seem to motivate myself to read the book outside of bed, so I guess I'll never swap my habits. After that happened, I switched to "T...

Re: February!

I finished "The Good Daughter" by Karin Slaughter. It was OK. I was interested to see what would happen. And one of the characters had a cat named Fosco, which is what our old cat was named. I never heard of any other cat called Fosco so I thought that was fun. Now I'm reading "Habit ...

Re: January 2022!

I don't remember! I definitely read Jurassic Park, but I browsed through his bibliography and I can't really remember which ones I read anymore. I was thinking Congo and Prey sounded familiar, and maybe also Timeline. But it was so long ago.

Good old Michael Crichton. I went through a big phase of his books when I was in university.

Re: January 2022!

I finished The Cove. Would not recommend.

Started The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. It's pretty good so far, although it doesn't have enough chapter breaks for my liking. I like to finish my nightly reading at the end of a chapter but the chapters in this one are too long so I don't have time.

Re: January 2022!

Just an update on The Cove by Catherine Coulter. OMG, this book is so badly written. The author is a hack. But I don't want to give up on it either.

I finished "The Last Letter from your Lover" by Jojo Moyes. I found it a bit hard to get engaged with at the beginning but by the end I loved it. She's such a good author. Now I'm reading "The Cove" by Catherine Coulter. I'm finding the writing a bit kludgy at times but I'm inter...

I abandoned Purity by Jonathan Franzen. It was too rambling and I couldn't get into it.

I'm now reading Good Neighbors by Sarah Langen (sp?). So far it's good, but I've only read it for like 15 minutes so far.
