I'm reading The Peacock Emporium by Jojo Moyes, a British author. It's a family drama and it's got me sucked right in.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom Nora Nora by Anne Rivers Siddons The Family by Anita Burgh What books have you read that you agonized through and just barely finished? I just finished reading The Goddess Rules by Clare Naylor. It's chicklit, but not too fluffy. I really enjoyed it. I'm going to look at my library list to see what's due next. That'll be what I read. Ok, looks like it's Big Cherry Holler by Adriana Trigiani. I liked the first one in the trilogy, and...

"when he come in the door this morning..." IT HAPPENED IN THE PAST, MORON! he CAME in, not COME in. i've never even heard of anyone refusing to use the past tense. it's so WEIRD! A friend's dad does this. It drives me bonkers. My ex-boyfriend's grandma used to say this too. I thought it w...

My first reaction seems to be a popular one: Who is she calling? I can't wait to find out how your plan works out. :giggle

Oh, and I really need to stop hearing the word bling. I heard two ladies in their 60's talking about getting all "blinged out" at a jewellry booth at the women's show on the weekend.

I wish my boss would stop saying "the trouble is" when referring to a challenge. I also really wish he'd stop saying (and writing) "if in the event". It's EITHER "if" OR "in the event". AAARGH!

I just finished His and Hers by Mike Gayle. His writing style reminds me of Nick Hornby. I really enjoyed this book.

Now I'm reading a suspense by Greg Isles called The Footprints of God. It definitely won't win any awards but it's a nice change of pace.

I actually enjoyed The Tipping Point more. I just finished The Bitch Posse by Marth O'Connor. This was definitely a darker look into the lives of teenage girls than is usually portrayed in novels. Sheesh. Now I'm reading Big Stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani. I think it's a character driven novel about ...

I am reading The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. This guy is a genius. Here's the entry on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malcolm_Gladwell

He also wrote Blink, which I read last week, and loved as well.

Warning, this is gross:

At brownie camp the leaders were making breakfast one morning and cracked an egg that had a half-formed chick in it. Yet another reason why birds freak me out.

I read it, but mainly because I didn't have anything else compelling to read at the time. The fact that her name was Girl pissed me off.

Now, I liked Prep just fine but wasn't too keen on Catcher in the Rye . But maybe that's because it was forced reading back in the day. I just finished Hand me down by Lee Nichols and am starting Bee Season by Myla Goldberg. The movie comes out this year (Tom Hanks) and I'd like to read it before th...

There are some lyrics here. http://www.babycenter.com/general/toolscalcs/6728.html

I remember my aunt singing Christmas carols to her boys because they were the only non-radio songs she knew the words to.
