Re: It's March - what are you reading?

I'm reading The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn by Robin Maxwell and The Baby Catcher by Peggy Lastname(no clue). It's about her midwife career - it's very interesting.

I have The Reader and In Defense of Food on my nightstand for my next books.

Anna wrote:All of Jodi Picoult's books have dumb ass endings like that. I liked that book too until the end, I like all her books until the end.
I'm not reading anymore of her books. This one pissed me off and so did 19 minutes (or 17 or whatever the number is).

I'm just finishing up Soldiers and Slaves - American POWs Trapped by the Nazis' Final Gamble by Roger Cohen. Great book - gripping and devastating.

I going to start Grave Sight by Charliane Harris soon. I'll probably start reading Revolutionary Road too.

Re: It's January! What are you reading?

I finished up all the Sookie Stackhouse novels...all of them were so good and now I'm depressed I'm done with them. I also just finished The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinetter by Carolly Erickson. It was pretty good - pretty light so I was able to finish it quickly. Now I'm reading The Omnivores Dile...

Re: It's January! What are you reading?

I'm on the 4th book in the Trueblood/Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlene Harris. I love them! So funny, romantic, dark, sci/fi all rolled into one. I'm going to be so depressed when I'm done with them.

Re: My Sister's Keeper - Mellenhead? *SPOILERS*

Yeah, I didn't like the ending either. And the mother totally grated on my nerves, especially at the end. I think it would have been better to end it at the trial.

I had no idea they had made a TV movie out of it! I will have to see if it's on Hallmark or Lifetime or something like that.

Re: 2008 Book round-up!

How many books did you read this year? (if you're into tracking that sort of thing) Um, a lot? I have no idea the actual number. What was your favourite book read this year? Hmmm, probably American Wife. A close second is The Memoirs of Henry VIII. Oh and Mother Shock (thanks, Beverly!), which I re...

Re: It's December - What are you reading?

Sil, My Sister's Keeper made me sad! I liked her book 17 (or 18 or 19) minutes. Those are the only two books of her's I have read. My Sister's Keeper is unbearably sad! And not the best choice for a new mom, I'm afraid. I'm finding it very gripping, though. I think the other one is 19 minutes :gigg...

Sil, My Sister's Keeper made me sad! I liked her book 17 (or 18 or 19) minutes. Those are the only two books of her's I have read. I LOVED American Wife. I gave it to my friend at work and she whipped through it in about 4 days. Now I'm about to read Sex with the Queen, It's a Boy and Misconceptions...

It's December - What are you reading?

I finished Too Fat to Fish by Artie Lange. I'm a big Howard Stern, as well as Artie. It was HORRIBLE. I don't know what I expected but it just wasn't good. I also finished A Lion Among Men (Wicked Vol. 3) by Gregory Maguire. Eh. It was not nearly as good as the previous two books. I just started Ame...

Let's see.....I'm all over the place: The autobiography of Henry VIII - LOVE IT....only a few more chapters before I'm done (It's like 900+ pages) The No Cry Sleep Solution, Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Child, The Baby Sleep Book (can you tell we have sleeping issues?) I just finished Please stop laughing at me by Jodee Blanco. I hated it. The main character irritated the hell out of me.

Right now I'm reading the Autobiograghy of Henry VIII by Margart George and The Other Princess by Phillippa Gregory.

Re: It's September - Whatcha Readin?

I just finished up Jane Boleyn: The true story of the infamous Lady Rochford by Julia Fox. It was extremely interesting but I don't think they know enough about Jane Boleyn to do an entire book on her. I also read 19 Minutes and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult(sp?). Both were good, but My Sister...

I finished In the Woods by Tana French and was totally unsatisfied with the ending. :?

I'm still slogging through The Slaves' War by Andrew Ward. The subject matter is so interesting but the writing style just blows.

I finished up Confederates in the Attic, which was pretty good. Now I'm reading In the Woods by Tana French, The Slaves' War by Andrew Ward, and Fresh Milk by Fiona Guiles. I've decided I need three books in rotation so I always have one when I need it. One for my nightstand, one to read on the trol...

Re: It's July - Whatcha Readin?

I somehow ended up reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, then read the other two books in the trilogy, Rebel Angels and A Sweet Far Thing. I think they are technically Young Adult books, but they were all really good. Now I'm reading Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz about so ma...
