Re: August!
I just finished Five Total Strangers by Natalie Richardson (or something similar for author name - book name is definitely right). It was a page-turner for sure, and an easy read. Would recommend for vacation reading. If I had to give it stars, I'd probably give it 3/5 because it was a bit... I dunn...
Re: July!
I finished Daisy Jones and the Six and my advice is, if you're not into it in the first 30 pages, just quit. It was ok and I did get into a bit more but I would have rather spent my time elsewhere.
Now started Five Total Strangers by Natalie Richards. I only just started so I have no opinion yet.

Re: July!
I'm persisting with Daisy Jones & The Six though I feel like I really should have abandoned it when I was tempted to. But at this point I'm invested and I'm starting to be interested in the characters. But I'm not that into it. Meh.
Re: July!
I finished Station Eleven a few days ago and loved it. So good!
Now I'm reading Daisy Jones and the Six. I hate it so far. Has anyone read it? Does it get better? Like if I hate the beginning will I hate the whole thing?

Re: July!
I finished The Delusions of Crowds the other day. That book was way too long. And not very interesting. It has some nuggets but boy it isn't worth the slog. Now I started Station Eleven. Unfortunately we started watching the miniseries last year so I feel like I'm watching a rerun. I don't think we ...
Re: May!
I forgot to tell you guys I finished Lessons in Chemistry a week or so ago. It was really good! I liked it a lot. Now I'm reading "The Delusions of Crowds" which is a non-fiction about how crowds can get things right but also how they can be led astray. He starts off by talking about those...
Re: May!
I finished Freedom by Jonathan Franzen last night. It's a weird book, I wouldn't 100% recommend it due to its oddness and length, yet somehow I found it compelling and I feel like it will stick with me.
Then I started Lessons in Chemistry. So far, so good.

Re: March!
I finished "The Last Mrs Parrish". I quite liked it. Apparently they're making it into a Netflix movie.
Then I started Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. So far it's OK, but I'm only like 5 pages in.

Re: March!
I finished Millionaire Teacher. It was good, for a non-fiction personal finance book. Now I'm reading "The Last Mrs Parrish". I forget who it's by. When I opened it in my Kindle, it was on the last page, so I might have already read it once. But so far, I don't recognize anything so maybe ...
Re: February!
I finished Whereabouts by Jhumpa Lahiri. Wouldn't really recommend it. It didn't do much for me. It wasn't terrible, just wasn't much of anything. Now I'm reading Millionaire Teacher by Andrew Hallam. Non-fiction personal finance book. Boy, that guy really scrimped when he was young. Rowan's husband...
Re: February!
So I finally finished The Stand! I liked it, but I felt like it was way too long. I did read the long version so I only have myself to blame, really. Now I'm reading Whereabouts by Jhumpa Lahiri. It's only OK so far, but it does have the advantage of having VERY short chapters, so it's easy to manag...
Re: November!
I finished Code Name Verity, I don't remember if I already reported that. It was just OK in my books.
Now I started The Stand by Stephen King so that's gonna take me a while.

Re: October
I finished Hell-Bent a couple of days ago. It was just OK. Wouldn't recommend for non-yoga fans. Now I'm reading "Code Name Verity", which is not at all what I thought it would be, but so far I'm enjoying it. For some reason I thought it would be a YA post-apocalyptic thing. Turns out it's...
Re: October
I'm reading "Hell-Bent", which is a memoir about a guy who got really into Bikram yoga and started doing competitive yoga. LOL. I'm actually really enjoying it, but probably only because I'm into yoga.

Re: September!
I finished "A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World" and really enjoyed it. Thumbs up. I also finished "A Canticle for Leibowitz" and loved that as well. 2 thumbs up. I literally finished the audiobook the day before it was due back to the library. Close call. Though I doubt it...

Re: September!
So far I love A Canticle for Leibowitz. But I'm only on chapter 2.
I've added The Younger Wife to my library hold list.

Re: September!
I recently finished the Lisa Jewell I was reading, "Then She Was Gone". I was lukewarm on it. At the beginning it was a massive pageturner but then it sort of just struggled, I felt. Still, if I had to give it thumbs up or down I'd go for up. Now I'm reading "A Boy and His Dog at the ...
Re: August!
I'm with you, Silvia. I also read the first one years ago and loved it, but then found the 2nd one to be a drag so I never continued past that. Apparently it's quite popular, our tour guide in Scotland kept yammering on about Outlander related things. My friend we were with actually did read all the...
