I have, I think, two stories left? But let the discussion begin!

Which was your favourite story?

Yup. It's 9 short stories. I nominated the Namesake for the Book Club but everyone wanted Interpreter of Maladies instead. :huffy But I like short stories too.

I just read A Paper Life , Tatum O'Neal's biography. She strikes me as a bit of a wingnut, but her life is really sad, and Ryan O'Neal comes off as a complete a**hole. I was also obsessed with "Bad New Bears" when I was little. :lol Now I have a self-help book called Complete Confidence , ...

I've read "Main Street" and "No Logo". They're both really dense books; you'll never read them straight through. But they're good.

I think you should start with "Three Junes".

See, I didn't mind "The Nanny Diaries."

I don't have very high expectations of chicklit. I read it because it's fluff. I much prefer someone who writes chicklit for what it is, rather than trying to cram too much depth into it. (Jennifer Weiner, I'm looking at you. :grumble )

The best kid's CD ever is Elmopalooza. :) It has all your favourite Sesame Street characters singing songs and includes my personal favourite: "I Don't Want to Live on the Moon" :hyper

I know. I posted that when I was only about on page 20. But it was still well-written how they were adamant about not adopting human behaviour, but let's go ahead and paint alphanumeric (i.e. human) symbols on the barn.

I'm reading it now. I would be the cat or the donkey. I find it interesting that the animals want to overthrow humans, and pledge to have nothing to do with humans, but they use human methods to do it. (i.e. reading, writing, science, tools) No one is completely autonomous. Whoa. Heavy. It...

Crystal, I read 26. Don't you get overwhelmed reading those posts on chicklit? Do you think people really read 140, 160 books a year? I don't know, sometimes I think they are just plain lying. I really believe those people have no lives, LOL. Also, they read a lot of teen stuff and mysteries that y...

According to my book journal (NERD!) I read 27 books in 2005. That's roughly one every two weeks for me.

Aly, I read Catcher in the Rye when I was 16, you know... right when you're in the middle of teen angst and you're supposed to carry that book around like a Bible. And even then, I thought "Meh... :shrug " I'm reading "The Comic Toolbox" for school, and "Mrs. Dalloway" ...
