Well, there's a bit of a twist so I don't want to tell you much...

I didn't mean I was literally depressed by it, LOL. But I found it very sloggy and long-winded. But that's me, and it was about 5 years ago.

ZATAOMM made me want to kill myself by the end. That and "On the Road" I just think you have to be high to appreciate.

Yeah, I read 'Interpreter of Maladies" and it was SOOOO good, that now I'm like "But if I read this one, there'll be nothing left!" (she doesn't have anything else yet, does she?)

I'm all delayed-gratification with books. How tantric of me.

My thing is this. (and I know I'm weird) When I find an author I love, I slow down reading all their works. I need to saaaaavour! Slooooooowly!

I'm reading "The Year of Magical Thinking" and it's very beautiful, but OH MY WORD it's sad. I keep thinking about my mother too, it's only as I get older that I can start to understand how it must have felt for her to have her spouse/life partner die at a young age.

If you want to talk depressing books, "The Year of Magical Thinking" is ripping my insides apart a bit...
