I finished What If? a couple of days ago. It was really quite entertaining. And very bite-sized, so you can easily pick it up and put it down.
Now I'm reading "A Bone to Pick" by Mark Bittman, which is about food politics. I'm not enjoying it much so far, but maybe it will get better.

Yeah, we're going down the Amazon as far as Manaus. Not coming down to your neighbourhood, though. After Manaus we just turn back and go back north to the Caribbean/Florida.

I finished The Ramblers by Aidan Donnelly. It was good-ish. It never really climaxed but it was enjoyable enough.
Now reading "What If?" by the author of xkcd, Randall Monroe.

Whee, I just got the flu pandemic book from the library. There weren't even any holds on it!

I finished "Dreams of Joy" by Lisa See. OMG it was gripping, especially towards the end. Took a little while to get going. It's the sequel to "Shanghai Girls" and it would probably be good to read that one first, but not necessary.
I don't know what to read next.

Re: May: What are you reading?
I finished a book I was reading for yoga homework / exam prep, and decided to treat myself to a fiction book as a follow-up. So I started Truly, Madly, Guilty by Liane Moriarty. So far it seems good.

So I should skip the last one I guess?
Sorry to hear about your meh book. It's annoying when you read a book and you're invested enough into it not to want to leave it, but you're not enjoying it that much. Hopefully it's short at least!

Re: May: What are you reading?
I finished "After You". I quite liked it, although nowhere near as much as the first one.
Now I'm reading a yoga philosophy book called "Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy" which I don't actually expect to get much out of, but figured I'd give it a try.

Re: April: What are you reading?
I finished The Handmaid's Tale. I enjoyed it, but found it a little too flowery for my taste. Still, the plot was good. I wonder if it's worth watching the TV series if you've read the book.
Now I'm reading "After You", which so far is enjoyable.

Re: April: What are you reading?
I finished "Right Behind You" by Lisa Gardner. It was decent. Even though it was the 7th book in a series where I hadn't read the first six, I still enjoyed it. It was nothing special, but a good thriller beach read. Now I'm challenging myself a bit more with "The Handmaid's Tale"...

Re: No March thread yet?
I finished "Pretty Girls" by Karin Slaughter, it ended up being quite good. A real page-turner. Now I'm reading "Right Behind You" by Lisa Gardner. It turns out to be #7 in the series (which I discovered after reading the first 3 chapters), and I haven't read the first 6 books. B...

I finished "The Burgess Boys" by Elizabeth Strout (sp?). It was just OK.
Now I'm reading "Pretty Girls" by Karin Slaughter, so far I'm not that into it, but I'm only like 2 chapters in so far.

I finished reading "The CBS Murders" the other night. It was a true crime book, I wouldn't particularly recommend it.
Now I'm reading "The Burgess Boys", I forget who wrote it. It's OK so far.

When I was 10 I was reading Jaws, so my judgement might not be the best, LOL. I didn't find it very violent, though.

Re: February! What are you reading?
I loved the Golden Compass trilogy. I listened to the audiobooks and the narrator had this wonderful British accent. But the plot/characters were also good.
