Ok, new plan. I'm giving up on Never let me Go. It was boring, boring, boring... I don't think any book has ever bored me this much in only 50 pages. Then I went to amazon and read some spoilers, and now that I know what the big secret is, it's become even more boring... so.. life's too short. Since...

I've finished Asylum by Patrick McGrath, which I loved, and have just started Never Let me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, which is supposed to be fantastic, but has a very slow beginning. We'll see.

I finished the 2 I was reading. They were both fun, but Goodnight Nobody doesn't have much of an ending, which was frustrating. Plus I'm not sure Weiner did a very good job with the mystery thing. Maybe she should stick to the usual chick lit stuff. But I like her style anyway. Now I'm reading The S...

I'm reading not one, but TWO chick lit novels. Shame on me! I started The Other Side of the Story by Marian Keyes, then I started reading bits of Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner. I usually read one book at a time, but I started Goodnight at a bookstore in Toronto one day, then another day I read...

The Year of Magical Thinking
Anyone read it?
I read the first 10 pages at the store today (it's been on my list forever) and though it's beautifully written and gripping, I'm not sure I should read it. Too devastating. But I *am* tempted.
So, anyone?

If I really love a book, I drag it out. You only get one first chance to discover something really fantastic. (You can reread it of course, but it's just not the same.) If it's a crappy book, I try to blow through it, mostly skimming. There's a couple I gave up on altogether. Oh, I do those things,...

I prolong the agony. I read 3-5 pages a day until I'm done. But that's if I'm close to the end. It happened when I was reading A Fine Balance. I read until page 600 or so and then got sick and tired of it. If I hate a book too much from the beginning, I just quit after 80-100 pages. Life's too short...

Suggestions for light and fluffy, please
I'm finally finishing A Fine Balance (I'm having a really hard time concentrating lately) and I need something veeerrry light. As in funny, no tragedies, please, not too much thinking. Total brain candy. I liked Bridget Jones and Good in Bed, hated Confessions of a Shopaholic.
