Ordinarily, I would say there's no such thing as too much cheese. But there may be such thing as too much goat cheese. :think She is definitely a wench though. Let's take her out. :elf :ditto to both. Adding another cheeseless vegetable to dinner might reduce the ratio of cheesey foods to non-chees...

Closing Costs was great, and then I just finished Piece of Work by Laura Zigman. It's about a woman who's forced to go back to work when her husband loses his job. She had been a stay at home mom to their toddler and then they reverse roles. It was pretty funny.

I started reading some chicklit book about a trip to Rome but the characters were grating on my nerves.

Now I'm reading "Closing Costs" by Seth Margolis. It's very fast paced and entertaining so far.

I faint before they even get the blood out of me. And each time I have blood taken now it's harder for them because of all the scar tissue from earlier attempts.

Stupid veins!!

I love the 'secret' version of Possession. Do you know the story behind the song?

That whole album and the Freedom Sessions totally take me back to University.

LB I love Sarah. I actually listened to the Afterglow CD while eating supper tonight. That's the one World On Fire is on, and my fave song from that cd is "Answer". Love it. I was totally thinking about picking up the Christmas album to play on my drive up north on Thursday. It's gotten am...

Spudd, if you notice when other people shake like a wet fish, then it's highly unlikely you do it yourself! Yesterday a candidate came in and gave me a "fingertip shake". He only grabbed my fingers, firmly. It was the oddest thing.

I just read After the Rice by Wendy French and it was ok, but not spectacular.

I'm now reading The Definitive Book of Body Language. So far I've only gotten to the handshake part, which is pretty obvious/intuitive.

I like whatever the library has in stock. :giggle I do prefer to read softcovers for all the reasons mentioned, but if I happen to be so engrossed in a book that I want to read it instead of a magazine at the gym, it better be hardcover so it can fit better in the plastic holder and not fold shut ea...

Queen of Babble was ok, but you can totally tell Meg Cabot usually writes for younger readers (Princess Diaries). Then I read The Curse of the Singles Table: A True Story of 1001 nights without Sex by Suzanne Schlosberg. I read it in a day; I couldn't put it down. Hilarious and hit home for me. Now ...

What are you reading now? (October)

I tried to read Fannie Flagg's new one (Can't wait to get to Heaven). I loved her other ones, including Fried Green Tomatoes.... This one just stopped me cold though. The characters were annoying the crap out of me.

I have "Queen of Babble" by Meg Cabot to try next. We'll see.

I love Marian Keyes. Which ones did you get?

For light but not inane, I would also recommend three books by Emily Giffin: Something Borrowed, Something Blue and Baby Proof.

I just finished "Swapping Lives" by Jane Green. It was cute, but not as good as some of her others. It's very current in terms of pop culture references though. I just started "Happiness sold seperately" by Lolly Winston. I really enjoyed her first novel "Good Grief" so...

I just finished The Myth of You and Me by Leah Stewart (about a female friendship gone sour--though you don't realize why until near the end of the book). I liked it. Now I'm reading a british chicklit book (although it was written in 1996; did chicklit exist as a genre then?) by Erica James called ...

:giggle That is an awesome name for a cat! I had a kitten (who had to be taken back because it was deathly ill) when I was 3 and named him George. My parents still make fun of me for that but I think it's a perfectly acceptable name.

My mom's name is Jane. Her family and my dad call her Janie, but nobody else does.
