Re: It's April - what are you reading?

Mellen, I checked for 50 shades of grey again and now they have it. I'm 49th (on one copy!).

Fair Coin looks good. Library doesn't have it but I 'll keep an eye out.

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

Finished Divergent last night. Loved it! If you liked Hunger Games, you'll like this. However if you are a crazy obsessed Hunger Games fan, then you won't. It's been a long time since a book grabbed me so much. Can't wait for the 2nd in the trilogy - it comes out May 1st. Next up is The Way We Fall ...

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

Haven't read 50 Shades either but there's a lot of buzz at the office. Considering I refuse to buy books, it's unlikely that I will read it as the library won't have it. Didn't know it was Twilight FanFic.

I'm really liking Divergent. It's sitting in my car right now...taunting me.

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

M has always been good at "letting" me read. I would often read alongside him as he watched a video or tv. I know...mother of the year...but I need my quiet time. :wine

Oh and there's no 'when he goes to bed". We go to bed at the same time...since he was a baby.

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

Finished Lone Wolf. I don't recommend it...even if you are a Picoult fan. Bah! I just started Divergent by Veronica Roth. It's been on my TBR list forever and it finally came in as a hold yesterday. We're on Spring Break this week which is nice because it means no homework which means more free time...

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

Finished Cross Bones. *sigh* I wish I loved this series. I really miss reading good series books.... We babysit at a friend's house on Fri and I forgot a book so picked something off her shelf. Waiter Rant by Steve ? It was ok but honestly, I have funnier stories when I was a waitress than he did. M...

Re: It's April - what are you reading?

This weekend I read.... Ashes Ashes - Jo Treggiari The Fault in our Stars - John Green All the Money in the World - Laura Vanderkam Monday Mourning - Kathy Reichs Everything was just ok. My fave of the bunch was probably The Fault in our Stars (YA novel about 2 dying teens). I'm reading the next Kat...

It's April - what are you reading?

It's April! I'm reading Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. Since I really liked 11/22/63, I decided to give him a shot again. I'm really not impressed but don't hate it enough to stop. Does that make sense? I'm off for a few days for a long weekend so I need to pick up a few books this week. Woo!

Re: It's March - what are you reading?

I finished The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest this week. I'm sad that I'm done the trilogy...I spread them out because I figured I would feel that way (also because they're pretty dark and depressing!). We watched the US version of the ...Dragon Tattoo last Fri and the Swedish version last Sat. I...

Re: It's March - what are you reading?

I finished Girlchild by Tupelo something or other. I had to force myself to finish it. Gah. It has gotten such crazy good reviews. I found it disjointed and I was constantly confused as to where I was in the story. I'm traveling next week so hopefully will get some reading in on the plane. Yay!

The new one from Deborah Harkness, Shadow of Night is coming out soon (or is out?). I read her first Discovery of Witches (?) at your recommendation.

It's March - what are you reading?

I abandoned Seizure partially because it was due back at the library and partially I wasn't really into it. I'm 2 pages into The Accident by Linwood Barclay. I've read a few of his in the past year and am always happy with the choice. Hopefully I can find a chunk of time to read this weekend - I'm r...

Re: It's February - what are you reading?

Started Seizure which is the 2nd in a YA series from Kathy Reichs. Good easy YA reading.

I've got a bunch of "Improving Employee Engagment" books that I need to start reading for work. Blech.

Re: It's February - what are you reading?

Mellen, that's exactly how I described Bond Girl. Honestly I felt the same way about The Goon Files a few years ago - the buzz was just crazy and the book was just "fine".

I've been slacking in the fun reading these days - work is just so crazy!

Spudd, "Before I Go To Sleep", is that SJ Watson? I had that in my hand at the library on Sat and put it back for some reason....

Re: It's February - what are you reading?

Finished Wild Thing by Josh Bazell. I have to say it really paled in comparison to his debut novel. For me, it was too political (I'm pretty apolitical) and the footnote thing while clever in Beat the Reaper was tiring in this novel. Mellen, sorry I don't want to sway you on this book but honestly i...
