Finished You Will Know Me by Megan Abott. It was good! I thought I had the one twist figured out but thought wrong.
Started Pretty Girls today. Thanks for the recommendation Blush!

Re: August! What are you reading?
I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but I didn't really love Truly Madly Guilty. I kind of feel like she peaked with Big Little Lies. :paranoid It wasn't bad but it was sloooowwwww. And I there were just some things that annoyed me. Next up is the new Megan Abbott book, You Will Know Me....

I finished Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman by Lindy West in one sitting. I love her writing so much, I thought the book was excellent.
Now I'm back to Underground Airlines. I'm only a few chapters in but it's good so far.

I loathe Harlan Coben books if that gives you some hope.Sílvia wrote:
Then I started a Harlan Coben because it cost 90 cents. I think it's called Hold Tight. This better not be another waste of a perfectly good dollar.

Finished up We're All Damaged by Matthew Norman. It was pretty good. Funny and light.
Next up is Underground Airlines. The book is set in present day America with only one difference - the Civil War never occurred.

Korie you should come hang out with us more often! I'd recommend: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty (anything by her, really) Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan Finished up Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler. It was decent but I don't understand the hype over it. I...

Re: July! What are you reading?
I'm a little over halfway done with Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler. It's a good story so far but some of the writing is soooooo pretentious.
I also started White Trash: The 400 year old untold story of class in America. It's good but a little heavy and repetitive.

Finished 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl by Mona Awad. It was really good, I could relate to good chunks of the story.

Finished up All The Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders and really loved it. It was this weird mash up of sci/fi, fantasy, dystopian....but it worked.
Next up is The Romanovs 1613-1918 by Simon Sebag Montefiore.

Sil, maybe it's so expensive since it's new? That's crazy. I finished The Revenant by Michael Punke. This time period is usually so not my thing but this book was REALLY good. Then I went and watched the trailer for the movie since it's had so much hype and the trailer just didn't do much for me. Oh...

Re: February! What are you reading?
Finished up The Longest Night by Andria Williams. It was quite good! I think it was a debut novel. I had about 7 holds come in at once. I think I might start The Revenant next. Hopefully it's good, I've read a couple reviews that it's *ACTION* *GORE* then like 2 chapters about how exactly to start a...

Re: January! What are you reading?
Finished up Career of Evil. I really liked it but she needs to wrap up a plot that has been in each of the books. I give it one more book before I'm sick of it. Also read The Guest Room by the same author that wrote Midwives. Blanking on his name. It was decent, didn't particularly like the ending. ...

I'm almost done with Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling). It's really good! I didn't like the second book in the series all that much so I'm pleasantly surprised by this one.

I read/skimmed Cabin Porn by Zachary Klein. It was mainly lots of pictures of gorgeous cabins in remote locations and blurbs about how they were renovated or built.
Now I'm reading Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It's excellent.

Re: December! What are you reading?
Finished Winter by Marissa Meyer - it was the last book in the series. The beginning dragged a tab but overall it was really good and tied everything together nicely. I think nearly 800 pages was a bit much though.
