Re: Its Jan 2008 - what are you reading?

I'm almost finished now with American Dreams by John Jakes. After that I'm going to read Morality for Beautiful Girls, the third book in the "No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency" by Alexander McCall Smith.

Re: Its Jan 2008 - what are you reading?

I've gotten a good start now on John Irving's A Widow for One Year. So far it's pretty good.

I thought Snow was good, but I hadn't heard anything about it beforehand, so I didn't really go in with any expectations. But, GAH! How hopeless was it?!

The God of Small Things, on the other hand, has me a little underwhelmed at the moment ... I'll keep plugging away at it, though.

April, ZATAOMM is Olof's favorite book ... I've never read it myself, but I keep saying I'll get around to it. Sílvia, I haven't read The Virgin Blue, but I've had it on my shelf for ages. I did like Falling Angels (or is is Falling?), but I've only read her books in Swedish. I leafed through a cou...

Ew ... see, I just don't get it. I saw Cold Mountain last night and he just left me cold. He has no appeal at all for me.

Good work on upping your iron levels, April! I can never get mine up, so I'm really impressed! :D I always want to give blood, but even if the MS didn't disqualify me, I'm sure my low iron levels would. About pregnancy vibes, I'm in a so-so place about that right now. I mean, I absolutely do NOT wan...

Suzanne!! Of course we remember you! But Spudd's right -- I don't think we know your DH's name (or your cats' names, either).

We didn't list mott, either, or Natalie, and probably others, too, for the same reason(s).

I'm sorry you feel hurt. :(

Kelly! Yay! I've missed you!

Cathy -- that's definitely a little freaky.

And how could we forget Jax's menagerie?! I know there's Ella(Phant) and Maddy, but I forget the name of the third dog. I can't remember the birds' names, either (besides Jax). Anyone?

I knew Clyde and Scooter, too! No fair that I'm always late just 'cause I'm on the other side of the world. :phbtt! Kayley, you were close on the pet names, but Åsa is a cat, and we still have Asbjørn. It was Mette who had to go away because she didn't play well with others. And we did get another...

Yeah, Stacy has posted hers, but not for a long time, so I won't put it up just in case (it happens to be my favorite boy's name, which is why I remember it). Spudd's is Kenneth (one of those names that always surprises me for Swedes to have). Razzy -- Pressly Molly -- Alex Bonnianne -- another Alex...

Wow, I have to go find my keepsake baby name book!
My best friend's son is named Lachlan ... I think it's a terrific name, but it gets mispronounced a lot.
