Don't forget my birthday Crystal! :nervous Sister of My Heart by Divakaruni- about two cousins living in Calcutta. Atonement by Ian McEwan - I can't get into it. I'm not really sure what it is about, 'cept this girl who likes to write stories. I'm also reading a PD James novel that's quite good to m...

The guy who bought it sniffed and asked if it was made of shit.

And I thought a bunch of life insuarance policies were taken out too? Did I misread that? But mostly they killed everyone to keep the tourists away.

I loved it: "The weather is increasing concern followed by full blown dread." It scares me how much I relate to Chuck's characters sometimes. I caught on early that strange narration was going to lead to a surprise ending. But I love the letter on the last page! I want to know what she pai...

I'm usually reading 2-3 books at a time. I try to read my library books first. I usually have one at work and two at home, one of which is usually non-fiction. Right now it is "Work as a Spiritual Practice" How is that? It sounds like it might help me as well! It's got a Buddhist bent to ...

I hope you like it! It was one of those I ended up liking unexpectedly. Someone forced me to read it. So stick with it. And you better like it or I'm coming for you! :deadly

I agree Spudd - maybe just reading the books and giving our impressions is enough? I mean - this should be enjoyable, right?

Thanks Spudd! I don't have the book in front of me, so lets see what I can answer. I think I'll have to come back to these when I have the book in hand. And to be honest, I missed a lot of they symbolism. 1. What kinds of marriage are presented in the stories? One reviewer has written that Lahiri's ...

I finished The Dogs of Babel - which was incredible, but so sad. It is about a man who's wife falls from a tree and he tries to get his dog to tell him what happened. It sounds implausible - but it really worked. I also just figured out that two of the books I picked up over Christmas vacation I've ...
