I'm not, because I got confused by the whole "3 books at once" thing and totally dropped out for some reason. But I want to rejoin. I think voting is a good idea - if only one person is interested in reading a certain book, then participation will probably be low! Or, rather than voting, ...

Book Club Question

It seems like participation has dwindled. Is anyone reading The Painted Drum or No Logo? Why or why not? I'm thinking that mabye I'll start choosing books from the list we compiled and then having you vote on them. If a book doesn't get enough votes, we'll move on to the next randomly selected book....

I just finished Children of God, which is absolutely amazing. I urge you to read that and the one that comes before - The Sparrow.

On the list are: Skull Mantra, The Hungry Ocean, and the 13th Juror.

I'm having trouble getting into No Logo.

I totally lost track of book club. I'd like to start doing that again. I think if we have one book per month it would be easier than working with a list of 3. We could announce the book 2 weeks ahead of the month. IE announce December's book in mid-November. Then people can get it, and read it duri...

First of all, did you like the book? Why or why not? I really liked the book. It's not one I would have chosen myself, but I thought she told the story beautifully and I was never bored. How did the loss of a child affect the characters in the book? Anoquot "woke up" from the dream of her ...

Discussuion Questions for The Painted Drum

**Please feel free to add questions!** First of all, did you like the book? Why or why not? How did the loss of a child affect the characters in the book? Why do you think the sister jumped? Do you think Anoquot's daughter jumped, or did she throw her? Why do you think the main character was so relu...

I'm reading In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje. It may be one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. I'm also reading No Logo . Is anyone else reading this for the book club? It's interesting, but it reads very slowly, like a textbook. I just started No Logo - and I agree! Has...
