I'm reading A Thousand Splendid Suns. I love it so far.
It's a very interesting read. I'm guessing it is death who does the talking, right? I have a feeling it isn't going to be a happy ending.

Have you read it? What did you think?

I'm currently reading "The Book Thief" and a sci fi book that for the life of me I can't remember the name of. I just read a book of poems by Mary Englbryte (sp?) that was quite good.

I have Boomsday on my list and some trashy thriller. Wheeee!

I didn't like The Namesake.

I'm just starting the Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. Foot binding is so horrendous!

So far I've read the two books out of Orson Scott Card's Women of Genesis series and I'm working on the third.

I've finished Cross by James Patterson. It was okay.

I've got a bunch of financial books by Suze Orman, but other than that - I need to go to the library.

Probably a little of both. I mean, I've been known to turn down social events for a good book!

Well, I don't have a child or a social life - which helps. But, honestly, I read every chance I get. I read while I eat lunch, I read on breaks, I read after work and on weekends. I can sit down on Saturday morning and be done with a book that afternoon.

Good idea about the drinking game! :lol I agree about Phoebe. I wish the book had been more about her and less about the mother's grief. So what are you reading now? I'm tackling The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. It's a little tough to get into. Then I'll read Margaret Atwood's The Blind Assasin.

Silvia - The Memory Keepers Daugther (spoilers)

So what did you think? I was a little disappointed. I guess I never really got to like the doctor. I didn't trust him and thought his decisions about Phoebe and whether to reveal she was alive were silly. His death seemed anti-climactic. I also found that the story moved too slow. It was overly sapp...

I'm reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. At first I didn't think the theme would be that appropriate for a pregnant woman, but it hasn't really disturbed me. And I'm finding it hard to put down. Well, after all the abortions, miscarriages and children's murders in The Virgin Blue......
