Re: It's September - what are you reading?

Got through both Evil at Heart (Chelsea Cain) and Four to Score (Janet Evanovich) over the weekend. Both were ok. I felt that the Chelsea Cain never really got started and then it was over. I don't remember having that feeling with a book before. Very strange. I'm reading Stephen Frey's latest, Hell...

Re: It's September - what are you reading?

Blush - I like Heartbreaking but I wasn't blown away. I loved What is the What the story of the lost boys of Sudan. They are very different books though.

I'm just starting Evil at Heart the third in the Chelsea Cain serial killer series.

Re: It's September - what are you reading?

I loved Hide. If you like thriller/murder mysteries you should check out Lisa Gardner - she's really great. Hide is apparently the second in a series so I will have to dig up the first one of these days. I'm currently working on Heartbreaking Work of a Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers which apparent...

It's September - what are you reading?

Can you believe its September already? I'm still reading Hide by Lisa Gardner. I really like her mysteries - they're generally hard to figure out. I went to the library yesterday and got a giant stack to take to NH with me this weekend. I'm hoping I can get some good reading in plus I have Tuesday o...

Re: It's August - what are you reading?

The Last Bridge was great! Unfortunately the last 2 books I've read have been painful. Intervention by Robin Cook with had glaring scientific errors and was really just pieced together in the end. Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner was really weak. Currently reading Hide by Lisa Gardner which i...

Re: It's August - what are you reading?

Finished All Together Dead this morning. Started The Last Bridge by Teri Coyne. I'm literally 3 pages in and I can't wait to read more. That was such a teaser. This book is widely acclaimed on LibraryThing and the author has a thread going for the next week or so to discuss the book. I want to finis...

Re: It's August - what are you reading?

Finished Relentless. I liked it. The end was quirky but it was worth reading. I"m reading the next Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse. I forget the name but i'm sure it has Dead in it. :) I gotta get cracking on the August reading....I'm a little on the light side for the month. ETA: It's All T...

Re: It's August - what are you reading?

I finished Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsey yesterday. The book is really different from the series. Dare I say I like the series better?

Next up is Relentless by Dean Koontz. I've ready the first 10 pages or so and it seems good. He's very hit or miss for me.

Re: It's August - what are you reading?

I finished Three to Get Deadly by Janet Evanovich (book I had was all 3 novels in one). I'm currently reading The Last Child by John Hart. It is so good so far. The story is about a boy who's twin was abducted and how he goes about town hunting her. The writing is so good. Also if you haven't read T...

It's August - what are you reading?

Just finished One For the Money by Janet Evanovich and I'm reading Two for the Dough. They're pretty fluffy but enjoyable summer reading. Haven't been around much last month and definitely read a few duds but did really enjoy Hold Tight by Harlan Coben and Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner. Happy Reading ...

Re: It's June - what are you reading?

I finally finished What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman. I really liked it but I couldn't speed through it for some reason. Some really good twisty plots. I had Wed off and read Sleeping Arrangements by Madeleine Wickham. Really easy chick lit. It's Sophie Kinsella's pseudo name. I'm reading Practica...

I finished American Rust and loved it. One of my favorites this year. I hit the 50 book mark with this one.

Not sure what's next. I have Sookie Stackhouse #3 on hold at the library - I just have to get there! :)

Mellen, you don't find Edward dreamy? 8) So I finished Life Sentences which was good. I will definintely look into Lippman's other books. Finished Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris last night. I"m enjoying this series. We're supposed to start watching the series soon so I will see how i...

Re: It's May - what are you reading?

I'm waiting for Columbine from the library. The author has been posting on librarything lately which is cool.

Recent reads include:
The Pilot's Wife - Anita Shreve
Just One Look - Harlan Coben
Sandcastles - Luanne Rice

I haven't figured out what's next. Probably another Coben.
