I haven't read Anna Karenina, I think Crystal read it recently though so maybe she can tell you if it's any good or not. I just read "Persuasion" by Jane Austen, and really enjoyed it. But it's not really *heavy* - it's a romantic comedy (or it would be if it was a movie). It is more chall...

I finished "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, which was really good aside from the corny love scenes.

I started the new Harry Potter last night.

While on vacation, I finished "Persuasion" by Jane Austen (loved it!), and started "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. Outlander is definitely refreshingly easy to read after Austen.

I'm with you, Jax.

I generally read one chapter a day, in bed, before sleep. Sometimes on weekends I'll read a bit outside of bed, but not usually.

I just finished Tami Hoag's "Prior Bad Acts". I think I may have posted about it already... anyways. It was a page-turner. I'm listening to The Namesake, I think I'm about 2/3 of the way through. Love it!! I just started reading Persuasion, by Jane Austen. It's OK so far, I'm waiting for t...

I finally finished my Tami Hoag book. It was a page-turner, I'll give it that. The writing style was kinda pulpy, but the plot had me hooked.

I'm listening to it on audiobook right now! I just started yesterday so I'm not far into it yet. DH is going to some weird event/dinner (apparently a combination of Mexican wrestling and burlesque??) thing in LA with Kal Penn in a few weeks. His friend has a friend who's friends with him and is brin...

I listen to the audiobooks while I'm walking to work. It makes my commute more enjoyable.

Isn't Slaughterhouse Five still in print? It's such a classic!

Reading: "Prior Bad Acts" by Tami Hoag - so far so good. Not earthshattering.

Listening: "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut - bizarre, but I'm loving it so far.

That was nice of you! I'm very amused by his typo. Oh, and by the way, before I opened this topic I *totally* thought that that guy you met randomly in a coffee shop who turned out to be some sort of bigwig had emailed you back. I couldn't remember what type of bigwig he was but I thought it was pos...

I like librarything better because you can import and export your lists.

I'm using tags to separate read, unread, etc. At least in theory. I've only done it for a few books so far.

Is anyone on LibraryThing or GoodReads?

I just discovered Librarything.com and Goodreads.com. Although, I have to say I like Librarything better. You catalogue your library, and then you can get suggestions on books based on the books you have in your library that it calculates by looking at what other people who have your books also have...

Not as depressing as "A Fine Balance". It kinda has depressing parts, but also cheerful parts, it's not one horrific event after another like AFB was.

I listened to the audiobook for Angela's Ashes. I thought it was pretty good, although it was rather depressing. He did do a good job of capturing some of the ways of childhood. And I was riveted wanting to find out how he would overcome all the odds against him.
