I finished The Antidote: Happiness for people who can't stand positive thinking by Oliver Burkeman. It was really quite interesting and the main point was that all this "rah rah positive thinking, motivation, don't ever think anything negative" bullshit is really just backfiring and making us more miserable. I can totally see it.

Now I have a book on the Science of Yoga, and Ken Jennings' new book, as well as some novels. I will decide later.

I finished Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History. It was really quite interesting and scary. It talks about how much all the chemicals we are are exposed to these days affects the breast and your overall health, how it's affecting breast milk, etc.

Next up is either Truth in Advertising or The Burn Palace, I have them both from the library. I have the next installment of The Walking Dead graphic novel as well but that'll only take me around 20 min read.....not really a book.

Yesterday I read Because I Said So! : The Truth Behind the Myths, Tales, and Warnings Every Generation Passes Down to Its Kids, by Ken Jennings (yes, the Jeopardy guy). It was quite interesting, a quick read, and funny in parts.

Now I have a novel called Objects of my Affection, by Jill Smolinski. It's about an organizer hired to declutter a hoarder's house.

I finished reading "Nemesis" by Isaac Asimov. It was pretty good, I give it a thumbs up (if you're into sci fi).

Now I'm on to "19 Minutes" by Jodi Picoult. I never read anything by her before. It's okay so far.

Blush...I just randomly picked up Objects of my Affections at the library last week. :) Curious to see how you like it. I also have the Ken Jennings book on my TBR list.

I still haven't started Me Before You yet. I have read nothing this weekend however nearly my entire to-do list is complete and my house is relatively clean. Aly's mom would say it's dirty but I'm happy with it. I have today off so hopefully I can get some good reading in.

:( I gave up on "Freedom". I was about 180 pages in and just felt like I slogging through minute details with no real plot advancement. I feel kind of guilty and certainly disappointed. That's the 2nd book in a row that I've flaked on. Where is my self-discipline?!

Regardless, I've moved on to "Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight". Seems good so far but who knows what I'll decide in another 50 pages. ;)

I started Me Before You yesterday and I'm nearly halfway through. I made a promise that I wouldn't recommend books before finishing them anymore but I'm really liking this one. It is flying by. Can't wait to finish it so I can really recommend it!

I'm about a quarter of the way into The Burn Palace and loving it, great writing, great character development. It's reminding me a bit of The Dome by Stephen King, which I absolutely LOVED until the ending. Here's hoping this ending doesn't piss me off!

mellen, I have the Burn Palace on my hold list on the library. Where did I get the recommendation? Stephen King. He does occasional work for Entertainment Weekly - love his book recommendations.

I gave up on Objects of My Affection. I didn't like the protagonist so I figured there was no point.

Now I will start "Flies on the Butter" by Denise Hildreth.

Also just put the Jojo Moyes book on hold. Estimated wait is 21 days.

I love that your library gives you the estimated wait time! I wish mine did that.

See, it's these long wait times at the library that makes me bring back new books before the due date when I'm finished. It's usually not totally out of my way (ahem...like Blush who has to plan it in advance). S thinks I'm crazy but if I can make someone happy with a book earlier than so be it! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that returns high demand books quickly. Jeff thinks I'm nuts, but I try to return them as soon as I can if I know there are holds.

Rowan, I've got about 100 pages left and it's still great. Hoping he starts wrapping up the story lines soon so that the ending isn't clunky.
