People! I NEED a good book!

Post by Rowan »

I've read like 5 books in a row that are only 1-2 stars. I am in such a drought! I may give up reading forever......

I'm almost finished Revival by Stephen King, and it's pretty good. I don't know if it's your style. It's not really a horror, it's mostly just a drama, and at the end he throws in a little horror for kicks.

Have you read Wool, by Hugh Howey? If not I'd recommend it, and its sequels Shift and Dust.

Time and Again by Jack Finney is an older book but it's really good.

On the topic of older books, one of my favorites of all time is Love Story by Erich Segal. If you haven't read that, it's a must-read.

I also really enjoy books by William Goldman. If you haven't read him, check him out.

What are you in the mood for? I can share some of my recent faves later from home.

Bodies of Water - T. Greenwood
The Secret Keeper - Kate Morton
Still Alice - Lisa Genova
The Last Letter from your Lover - Jojo Moyes
Bird Box - Josh Malerman
The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah
Three Daughters - Consuelo Saah Baehr
Follow You Home - Mark Edwards
Little Black Lies - Sharon Bolton
The Bookseller - Cynthia Swanson
Secrets of a Charmed Life - Susan Meissner
After You - Jojo Moyes (assuming you've read Me Before You)
Us - David Nicholls
The Silent Sister - Diane Chamberlain
The Japanese Lover - Isabel Allende
The Misbegotten - Katherine Webb
Finding Jake - Bryan Reardon
What Was Mine - Helen Klein Ross
The Wife's Tale - Lori Lansens

All of these were at least gripping and enjoyable to me.

Thank you both. Spudd, I actually looked for Love Story as I've seen it before but thought it was likely cheesy. Library didn't have it. :(

Holds are back at my library (they were suspended for a few months) so I'm getting some decent stuff in. I read 3/4 of Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld last night. REally liking it.
