September: What are you reading?

I realize I've not been posting a lot here.

I most recently finished The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis. I love her work - she takes a historical building in NYC and writes a story surrounding it with an older timeline and a recent timeline. This wasn't my favorite of hers...seemed rushed a bit but I enjoyed it.

I have The Heir Affair up next but realize that I completely forgot The Royal We (first in the series) so I'm going to read Royal We again.

I have a nice stack and seemingly no time to read. I need to figure that out once M goes to school.

I finished If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane. I loved it. It may be due to my state of mind, but I really needed a Rom com type book, and this one was 100% NOT CHEESY.

Now I have The Almost Moon. It's not great, as per reviews, but it was free and it's short.

I finished The Almost Moon. It was about what I expected.

I picked up SEVEN holds from the library yesterday. I'm starting with All Adults Here by Emma Straub.

I finished All Adults Here. It was great.

Now: The Space Between Lost and Found by Sandy Stark-McGinnis. It's YA (actually middle grade?) about a young girl whose mom has early onset Alzheimer's.

I finished The Space Between Lost and Found, and also the anti-scam book by Frank Abignale.

Now I have a novel called 500 miles from you by Jenny Colgan.

Poor Blush! All alone over here. :wine

Recently I have read:

The Heir Affair - sequel to The Royal We which I had read a million years ago so had to get that from the library, read it, then read the sequel

Not Like the Movies - sequel to Waiting for Tom Hanks (Blush if you're still in the mood for romcom I liked the Tom Hanks one best)

I have Agnes at the End of the World up next.

I will put it on my list! I finished the Jenny Colgan and the ending was rushed.

Now I have a book of essays: My Life as a Villainess by Laura Lippman.

I recently finished Jennifer Lancaster's latest Welcome to the United States of Anxiety. I didn't love it. It's definitely more serious than her memoirs but it just fell flat for me.

I started Majesty by Katherine McGee which is the 2nd in the American Royals series. Total fluff but I loved the first one - envisioning that George Washington became King of the US and the story revolves around existing children of the current King in modern times.

I finished My Life as a Villainess. It was ok.

Now I have a suspense novel called Someone We Know by Shari Lapena.
