May!

Read the 5th Bridgerton (To Sir Phillip, with love). Didn't like it. The love interest is boring, and it's all super forced. Poor Eloise, she deserved better.

I finished Free Love by Tessa Hadley. It was good; I liked the setting of late '60s London.

Now I have The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave.

Read Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. My fingers are sticky from all the sugar. 2 stars.

I finished What the Psychic Told the Pilgrim and wasn't a big fan.

Now I'm reading Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and loving it so far (though I do have a bit of trouble suspending my disbelief).

Spudd, I loved Project Hail Mary!

Read The Good Lie by A. R. Torre. It was ok. Not as good as another I've read by her (Every Last Secret?)

I'm reading Finlay Donovan is killing it. Based on the premise (woman gets mistakenly hired as contract killer), I thought it would be either incredibly stupid or very funny. So far I'm finding it funny. It has a bit of a Desperate Housewives vibe in its dark humor.

Finished Finlay Donovan. It was ok. Had its funny moments. 3 stars.

Then I started Pretty Things by Janelle Brown. I've only read a few pages.

The No Show was pretty good. Then I read Fragile by Sarah Hilary (tense and a bit weird, but gripping), and then an older one called The Hive by Gil Hornby. It was about a bunch of school mums, clique problems etc.

Now I have a romance called The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai.

I finished Project Hail Mary. Absolutely loved it. Best book I've read in years.

Now I'm reading "Rogue Lawyer" by John Grisham. Not even in the same ballpark, LOL.

Oh yay!! So glad you loved PHM, Spudd! I loved it too! The only reason I gave it only 4 stars instead of 5 is because I'm too stupid for all the science bits, and got bored occasionally. But it's such a great story! Leo just finished it and liked it too.

Finished Pretty Things. It's supposed to be a mystery/suspense, but to me it felt more like a drama. I really liked it.

Still playing with my samples, not sure what I'll commit to.

I'll post here because I finished what I was reading yesterday, it was still May. It was The No-Show. I liked the second half, thought it was very clever, but was bored to tears in the first half. Did you like all of it, Blush? I saw you gave it 4 stars. I gave it 3.5 for the aforementioned reasons. I was very torn.

It definitely wasn't my favourite of hers, mainly because I was annoyed by the characters in the first half, until I figured out what was really going on.
