I just ordered a used copy of What Animals Want: Expertise and Advocacy in Laboratory Animal Welfare Policy online.

I honestly can't remember the last time that I purchased a brand-new book :)

I just bought 2 photo books at Borders last weekend. One about the photographer's market for 2006. One was about selling photos.

Whoa - are you getting into that, Annie?

(Or, have you been into it all along and I never noticed? :nervous )

You got into this business because you're funny and weird, and you're socially retarded. And because it pays well. - Jack Donaghy, 30 Rock.

The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

But I'm still only 60% through Shantaram (it has 940 pages), and I wanna read something shorter after that (The Historian has 800+pages). I don't wanna commit to another super long book.

I started listening to Diary and couldn't stand it. Maybe it was the chick reading it...maybe it was the way it was being read...I dunno. Maybe that's just one that would be better read rather than listened to. :dunno It's a friend of mine's favorite book, but then again, he's kinda weird so...:shrug Did someone recommend it to you?
