ISO: Names to make my MIL cringe.

Post by Marie »

Jeff doesn't have the *ahem* balls to just tell his mother that we aren't telling the name until the Peanut is born. His mother is driving us CRAZY with names. She's really hitting it hard now that we know he's a boy. After talking to her last night she just emailed me AGAIN begging to know the name.

So give me some names, totally reasonable normal names, that will make my white, middle class sheltered Christian MIL cringe.

Poor Oswaldo!

How about Jethro?

No name suggestions, but definitely tell her it's something horrible. She deserves it big time for harrassing you.

frank...enstein
hans
elvis
mario
luigi
duhwayne (or any "normal" name spelled really strangely or insultingly)
paris
eduardo
furton (or any made-up name that sounds vaguely dirty)

a first and middle name whose initials, combined with your last initial, form something undesirable... like Leonard Samuel Davis (LSD) or Thomas Hector Charlton (THC).

a name that rhymes with your last name (i.e. Willis Hillis)

Nothing is wrong with them!!! I want normal names so that it is believable - just ones that she wouldn't like. She would love Patrick and hate Elijah. Elijah is just *different* enough in her world to not be acceptable.

I'm sooo loving Cletus!

You should send her an email every day saying, I was just kidding. We are really naming the baby....

Every day could be a theme. Day one: trendy names like Caleb, Day two, Olk School names like Henry and Morty Day three, Ghetto names like Tyrone.

Man, I could do this all day...

alex's friends are such nerds that they name their children after fictional characters. so far we have a logan (after wolverine from the x-men) and a xander (after the buffy character). :ohfor there's also a rachael; she may or may not be named after the rachael from friends.

alex and i are not much better; we like victor and heidi for names.
