July! What are you reading?

I finished The Next Time You See Me by Holly Goddard Jones. I'm feeling meh about it after the ending.

I finished Treasure Island!!! By Sara Levine. Funny and odd.

Not sure what's next; I have Memories of a Marriage, The Engagement, Kiss Me First and The Hedge Knight.

I'm halfway through The Execution of Noa J Singleton. I like it but it's building, building, building. Another character that I don't really like....

I just finished The Orchid House by Lucinda Riley. The dialogs were cheesy, the romance contrived, the plot twists ridiculous, beyond unbelievable; the coincidences and the neat ending too Hollywoodian... and I couldn't put it down It was like a bad Mexican soap opera... so much drama, and I really wanted to know how it would end. The author was called "a Kate Morton wannabe" on goodreads.Be warned, then.

I don't know what to read now. I have Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn sitting next to me, but I'm waiting for 2 books by a Brazilian author I ordered. They should be here tomorrow. I'm curious, they're historical fiction and sound right up my alley. We'll see.

I gave up on Memories of a Marriage. Boring.

I'm about halfway through Kiss Me First - it's about a woman that commits suicide and another woman that learned about her and her life and agreed to pretend to be her online so no one knows she's dead. It's pretty good so far.

I need to buckle down and get through some books this week, I just got a notice that Cuckoo's Calling, Joyland, Coming Clean and Lexicon are all on the hold shelf. Why does everything come in at once?!

mellen, i hear you on the hold thing. That always happens and then you only have 2 weeks to read a gazillion awesome books. Curious what you have to say about Cuckoo's Calling....

I also have the hold issue. I currently have City of Thieves & Wool Omnibus out (almost done CoT but haven't started WO) and just got notification that The Ocean at the End of the Lane is in for me to pick up. Stressful!
