Yes, I know she has a new book out in October. Can't wait!
Anyone similar? I tried to read The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley but gave up halway through. It was so slow. Plus it was sort of a ripoff of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander. Anyone read anything by Kate Riordan? Rachel Hore? (is that pronounced "whore"?). Lucinda Riley always shows in those similar books on goodreads and amazon, but, while her books are fun, she's not on the same league as Kate Morton. She's more in the trashy historical fiction genre. Which I appreciate too, but sometimes I want better writing.
Ideas?
If I like Kate Morton, who else should I read?

I've never read any Kate Morton so I'm no help!

Sorry! Is there a feature on Goodreads that could help you with this question? I don't use the site enough to know, but it seems like something they might have.

You might like Anita Burgh. She writes good historical British and WWII fiction. It doesn't have as much mystery, but it's slightly better writing. She has some good contemporary stuff, too.

WWII Britain: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/466 ... e_Mistress

These are a series; here are the first two.

I could type the authors like her that I like and you could avoid them!

Bugsy, goodreads suggests the authors I mentioned, but I'm not familiar with them (except Lucinda Riley.)
Blush, thanks! I'd never heard of her. Unfortunately, kindle doesn't have many of her books (probably because it's older stuff), but it does have a few. I just downloaded a sample of Clare's War, and the book only costs US$1.75! You mean her writing is better than Kate Morton's? Kate Morton is good enough for me, have you ever read Lucinda Riley? Ms. Morton sounds like Shakespeare next to her Anyway, I'll let you how it goes.
Mellen, come on! We do agree occasionally.
Thanks, guys!

I just think Kate Morton often has unlikely coincidences in her stories.
