I finished Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and it was 3.5 stars for me. I still love The Martian more.

I'm working on Home is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose - I'm enjoying it. Probably halfway through or so.

Funny, I loved Project Hail Mary but couldn't get into The Martian. I've tried it twice, couldn't get past the first 30 pages. Maybe I should just push myself past that mark to see if it gets better.

I read a Brazilian historical fiction. It was kind of boring.

Finally finished Sapiens a few days ago. It's fascinating. I gave it 4 stars because I can't say all 700 pages of it were equally interesting, but overall I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you enjoy history.

Now I'm about 60% through the latest Kristan Higgins.

Finished the Kristan Higgins, Look on the Bright Side. I usually love her stuff, but this one is largely about cancer, which I hate reading about even at the best of times. Actually, I hate sick lit in general. I still ended up giving it 3 stars because of the non-cancer parts, but still.

I mentioned Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo in the main board. Still trucking along on that one - really enjoying it and wish I could find more time to read it. Hopefully this weekend!

Finished Ninth House and it was 5 stars for me. There is a sequel out already but I heard it wasn't as good. I'm going to try to get to it in the next month so that I don't lose the Ninth House story.

I read So Thirsty by Rachel Harrison on Sunday. I love her but this was disappointing. Her writing was still fun but the story and characters felt too similar to another of her stories.

I started Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell but only about 20 pages in or so.

I was in a bit of a reading slump, meaning I couldn't make myself read.

I did finish one by Clare Mcintosh. It was fine. Interesting premise.

Then The German Wife by Kelly Rimmer. It was good, but heavy.

Then yesterday *in one day!* I read a debut novel by Betty Cayouette called One Last Shot. Romance. Felt rushed at the end and some of the communication between the main characters was problematic. I get that missed communication was a plot device but even when the 2 were sorting their shit out it felt juvenile.

Anyway, I brought Crazy Rich Asians which I never got around to before, and a Herman Koch book. Both I can leave in the hotel library.

I read The Only One Left by Riley Sager, which I loved until about the 85% mark. I knew from reviews that the ending would be ridiculous with all its twists, and oh man, were they right. Seriously, how much implausibility do thriller writers think they can get away with? But because I loved most of it, I still gave it 3.5 stars. I'm getting softer in my old age, because 5 years ago I would have given this book 2 stars just because of that ending. Or maybe I've just learned to accept that ALL thrillers have ridiculous twists these days.

Then I started Betting on You by Lynn Painter. I'm not much of a romance reader, but sometimes they work for me. I LOVED her Better than the Movies last year (and there's a sequel coming out next week!), tried one of her adult novels and DNFd it, now decided to give this one a try.

I finally finished the 3-Body Problem trilogy last night. Would not recommend. It was ok, but not worth how long it was. Not sure what's next.
