Would you consider time travel sci-fi?

That's basically it, the title. I was going to put it in Rowan's thread, but didn't want it to get lost there. I'm thinking of creating a sci-fi shelf on goodreads so that it'll be easier for me to find those books when I want to remember what I liked and find similar reads. I'm very much NOT a big sci-fi reader and there are books in the genre I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole, but I can't help noticing that several of my favorite reads in recent years can be classified as at least soft sci-fi. So my question is the one in the title. I mean, if the whole point of a book is the time travel, with lots of "explanations", it's easy to see that it's sci-fi. But what about books like Outlander, where the focus is on history and romance? Or The Time Traveler's Wife?

As you can see, I clearly have too much time on my hands today.

You can create your own shelves. My question is if I should put all time travel in the sci-fi shelf. It'd be weird. But then it's my shelf, I can do whatever the hell I want. I don't know. I'm probably too lazy to go through all my books anyway.

Turns out I wasn't too lazy to go through all my books. It took me about an hour. I have 69 "sci-fi and the like" books on my shelves. Includes dystopias and speculative fiction. I didn't include books where the sci-fi-y/speculative aspect wasn't so strong, or books where the romance was more important than the time travel. I know, vague.

I was surprised to find I have more sci-fi and the like than nonfiction. Huh.
