Holiday Reading?

Post by Lady Bug »

Does anyone ever do any "holiday-themed" reading? I usually don't, but this year I decided to pick up Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris.

What about you?

Do you want traditional, feel-good type holiday reading? Because there's a book called "The Stupidest Angel" by Christopher Moore that's really funny and screwball but not exactly... heartwarming. :lol

There's always "A Christmas Carol" for traditional reading. And John Grisham apparently has a Christmas story that's quite different from his usual lawyer books.

I've been meaning to read the Grisham book (Skipping Christmas) for years now. Unfortunately, it's never at the library around Christmastime!

ETA: Holy cow... I just checked my library's website and they actually have multiple copies on the shelf right now! I think I'll swing by the library after my little quizzie-poo tomorrow, as reward for all of my hard work :)

Wait - isn't that book a movie now? With Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen?

I don't know who's in it, but it is a movie. The movie looked a little too cheesy for me, though, so I think I'll just stick to the book!

Yeah, the movie was called "Christmas with the Kranks".

I heard the book wasn't that good. (And the movie too, for that matter.)

I just finished the book --- it was a quick, enjoyable read. It certainly would never go on my Top 10 Favorites list, but it was a nice way to pass the evening :) There were a few comments in there that were a bit strange, though... I'm curious if anyone else would pick up on them.
