I'm glad to hear you liked Bees. I'm excited for it to come up on my list.
Funny I got Cress a month or so ago and started it and thought I've forgotten everything. Never got through it and have it back on the list. I guess there's something about these series that maybe you should wait until they're complete.

Re: May! What are you reading?
I loved Life After Life. I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks after reading it.
I just finished The Silent Wife, and it was okay. Better than Gone Girl.
Right now I'm working on the third book of a Swedish detective trilogy. As far as I know it's not available in English.

This Life after Life is very much on my list.
Beverly, was it you who recommended Perfect by Rachel Joyce? I bought it.
I finished One Day by David Nicholls. I liked it. The male character was annoying as hell for 70% of the book, but the female made up for it. I thought the dialogs were funny and the whole book was fast-paced and, to me, gripping. I see now why it had so many negative reviews: it has a plot twist that is very unpopular. Well, I liked it.
Then I started The Mystery of Mercy Close by Marian Keyes. We'll see.

Is Life After Life by Kate Atkinson or Jill McCorkle? My library has both and they're both from 2013. I'm thinking Atkinson, because it seems more popular.

Finished Cress by Marissa Meyer. It was decent and I kind of remembered what went on in the prior books as I read. I'm starting to feel like she needs to wrap this series up. I don't know how many more books she has planned but not a ton actually happened with the main plot so that was annoying.
I started Sleep Donation by Karen Russell yesterday - it's about the country having a sleep crisis and people dying from isomnia. It's good so far and I love her writing.

mellen, it's a series of 4. I'll still read Cress but really nothing can touch Cinder.
Currently reading Long Gone by Alafair Burke.

Someone at work was just telling me about this one. It sounds fascinating.mellenhead wrote:I started Sleep Donation by Karen Russell yesterday - it's about the country having a sleep crisis and people dying from isomnia. It's good so far and I love her writing.
I am so not loving "1Q84" and am about ready to stop it. I'm not even a quarter in, though, and just keep hoping it'll get better. In theory it's right up my alley, but it is just not picking up steam.
Re: May! What are you reading?
I have given up on "1Q84" and just started "Hood" by Emma Donoghue. So far, so good.
And I am still listening to "The Lonely Polygamist." It's gotten better, I suppose, but overall I'm feeling pretty indifferent about it.

Still liking Long Gone although I haven't had much time to read it lately.
