I'm still working away at Anna Karenina.

Also, started "The Lovely Bones" the other night. So far I'm loving it.

I finished up On Beauty by Zadie Smith -- it was excellent. I also just finished Notes from a Big Country by Bill Bryson, which was good, too. Now I'm on to The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz.

I somehow ended up reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray, then read the other two books in the trilogy, Rebel Angels and A Sweet Far Thing. I think they are technically Young Adult books, but they were all really good.

Now I'm reading Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz about so many people in the south are still obsessed with the Civil War.

Hello, I'm Special: How Individuality Became the New Conformity by Hal Niedzviecki.

I just finished This Gaming Life: Travels in three cities by Jim Rossignol. It is a librarything early reviewers book. It was ok. Somewhat disjointed, but interesting. About games and culture.

Now I am reading The Handmaid's Tale

I'm finally interested in reading fiction again. I'd been reading only baby books since Leo was born. But I'm reading a book by a Brazilian author who hasn't been translated into English, apparently. Bah.

I loved that book, Anna! I'm so sad that Ann-Marie Macdonald doesn't write much anymore.

I've decided that I function best (whatever that means) when I have a classic fiction, a modern fiction, and a non-fiction on the go at the same time. I think the English student in me got used to reading many books at once.

Classic: Still "Vanity Fair". Hey, it's thick...
Modern: "On Beauty" by Zadie Smith. I love her so much. (Therefore, silvia probably hates her. )
Non-fiction: Still working on "Hello, I'm Special."

I finished up Confederates in the Attic, which was pretty good.

Now I'm reading In the Woods by Tana French, The Slaves' War by Andrew Ward, and Fresh Milk by Fiona Guiles. I've decided I need three books in rotation so I always have one when I need it. One for my nightstand, one to read on the trolley and one to read while I pump.

Me, I finished The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which was also excellent, but v. frustrating at points because there was so much Spanish (I had to rely on Kayley to translate for me a couple of times! ). Now I'm on to Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, and so far I'm liking it a lot.

Only about 150 pages in. Did you read "The Autograph Man"? Everyone says that's her weakest, but I'll probably get to it eventually...

And I want to read "Cold Comfort Farm" too!
