November already! What are you reading?

I'm about to start "Freak" by Jennifer Hillier. I haven't yet read "Creep" which I think comes before this one but I hope it won't matter.

I've just started "So Much For That" by Lionel Shriver. So far it's really depressing! I hope it picks up.

I'm reading that too, Spudd. I don't think it'll be anything other than depressing :lol I do like her style, though.

Sounds right up my alley; I'll add it to my list.

I'm reading "Blue Nights" by Joan Didion. It's about the loss of her only daughter. So far I like it better (or it resonates more) than "The Year of Magical Thinking" which was about her mourning the loss of her husband.

I am reading "The Autobiography of Eleanor Roosevelt" and also "In Plain Sight" the story of Elisabeth Smart.

I'm about 100 pages into ER and it's very different. But I'm enjoying it. I just started IPS so I can't comment on that yet.

Anna, is IPS an autobiography?

Not sure where my post on Nov 1 went. :headscratch

I'm halfway through "Tell the Wolves I'm Home". I'm really liking it but find myself wanting to like the main character more. Strange.

Blush, curious to hear what you think of Freak. I read Creep and started Freak a month ago and just couldn't get into it. I felt that I had forgotten the first story and that it was making things confusing.

I had to put Feast of Crows aside because a bazillion holds came in at once. I'm reading Mrs Queen Takes the Train, which is an (obviously) fictional account of the Queen getting sick of being the Queen and up and leaving the castle and the servants trying to find her. It's amusing.

I also have: The Casual Vacancy, The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, Mr Penumbras 24 Book Store and something else I'm forgetting.

I finished "Blue Nights". Agh, terribly wonderful book. It resonated with me a lot more than "The Year of Magical Thinking". Probably just because the mother/child bond runs deep in all of us.

Now I'm on to "Run" by Ann Patchett. I also have from the library:

Here Comes Trouble by Michael Moore -- saving for after my trip
Eventide by Kent Haruf -- after trip
Before I Go To Sleep by someone Watson -- taking on the trip.

Hopefully 2 books will be enough. I'll be really busy working but also I won't have Luke or Jack around so.... :headscratch But my suitcase is already full and they are big hardbacks.

Before I Go To Sleep was a fun read.

I finished Mrs Queen Takes the Train. It was a quick, fun read.

I just started Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore last night.

I forgot to pack "run" for the trip so managed to arrive with only one book. I have "before I go to sleep". It's so good!! I would equate it to gone girl but better. And consequently, I've almost finished it

So now I need to find a bookstore tomorrow. Any suggestions for a page-turner?

I know I keep recommending this, but "Where'd You Go, Bernadette?" is a fun read!

I finished Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore. It's a good book for anyone that's a book lover. Totally enjoyed it.

I tried to start 50 Shades Darker , cause I felt like since I read the first one, I should finish the series but I just can't. It's just so poorly written.

So, now I'm on to The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her own making.

Ditto Bernadette. It will definitely be on my top 3 for 2012.

I'm reading What the Nanny Saw. Still plowing through it hoping for something but not sure i'll get what I want out of it. Almost done....

Last night I finished Freak. It probably would have been better had I read Creep first, but it was suspenseful, at least. I skipped over some of the gory parts.

Then I started "Tiny, Beautiful Things: advice on love and life from Dear Sugar" by Cheryl Strayed. I know that will be a tear jerker. I wonder how many of the questions/answers I've already read online?

I also have "Domestic Pleasures" by Beth Gutcheon; it's due in five days so maybe I should read it first.

I'm a bit more than halfway through the audiobook of "Big Stone Gap" by Adriana Trigiani. Thanks for the suggestion, Blush! It took a little bit for me to get into it, but I'm really enjoying it now. It's a nice commuting book, for sure. This is part of a series, yes?

Oh, and "Tell the Wolves I'm Home" came in for me at the library. I need to remember to pick that up before Thursday when the hold expires.

I finished What the Nanny Saw. Ugh. Did not like. :angrywife

I have the whole week off next week and plan to read, read, read. I hope I can find some good stuff.
