Yay, I love those lists! I'll check mine, but I can tell you that I've only had two 5 stars this year so far (maybe also my current one.) Out of 59. That's out of how many, Rowan? I know you read a lot more than me. Also, I suppose 11/22/63 was a reread? I reread it a while ago and it's also a 5 star for me. SO good! The Light Pirate is also one of my favorites in life :love

4.5 - I who have never known men - Jacqueline Harper
4.5 - How to walk away - Katherine Center (yes, a romance, I'm getting soft in my old age)
4.5 - Migrations - Charlotte McConaghy
4 - How high we go in the Dark - Sequoia Nagamatsu
4.5 - Real Americans - Rachel Khong
5 - We were the lucky ones - Georgia Hunter
5 - I'm still here - Marcelo Rubens Paiva (Reread, Brazilian, not translated into English but there's a movie coming out)

Still reading 2001- a space odyssey, which will be 4 or 5 stars. I'm loving it.

And there were several 4 stars that didn't make the cut but were still very good. See, Rowan, I do like some books! :giggle I can't help noticing that 4 of the books I mentioned are sci-fi, one is a memoir (the Brazilian), and one is fiction, but based on a true story, so very close to a memoir (We were the lucky ones.) I'm not bored with reading, I'm bored with general contemporary fiction.

Yes, 11/22/63 was a re-read for Stephen King Summer book club. I was surprised I still loved it as much as the first time. I pretty much shut the book and said "wow".

We Were the Lucky Ones is on my shelf - I have to get to it.

I gave 11/22/63 4 stars the first time I read it and 5 stars the second time. I love when that happens!

I don't think that's ever happened to me.
