Dear PR Representative,
I recently purchased 2 Hershey’s Pot of Gold boxes of chocolate, one premium assortment and one nut assortment at the CVS Pharmacy in Cincinnati, Ohio. I intended to give them as gifts, but decided to keep the nut assortment for myself, so I opened it up to try some chocolate. As soon as I opened it, small bugs began crawling out of the chocolate covered cashew piece and who knows where else, as I didn’t keep the box open long enough to find out. I saw at least 2 of them before hurriedly closing the box so they wouldn’t start crawling all over my desk. I was extremely grossed out, and returned the boxes to CVS promptly. They had been on sale buy one get one free. Anyway, I wanted to inform you of this because I think it is important to know these things about your products. The box was completely sealed in plastic wrap so the bugs HAD to have been in there during production, before the boxes were sealed. Inconceivable.
I’ve always loved Hershey’s Pot of Gold boxed chocolates for gifts and for myself, much more than Russell Stover and second only to Godiva. I’m glad I decided to open the box and not give it away, because I would’ve been thoroughly embarrassed to give such a gift for Christmas! In fact, I'm pretty sure I will not be able to bring myself to purchase Pot of Gold for anyone as a gift, nor for myself, ever again, unless I'm thoroughly reassured by some large monetary compensation.
Sincerely,
Aly
