Freaky library bedbugs!!

Rowan, Kathy Reichs was on the cruise Kenneth took with his mom (before I joined him). He rode an elevator with her.

I had no idea books could get bedbugs! Freaky.

Rowan I'm about 100 pages into The Expats and enjoying it. The writing is a beat offbeat, probably why I like it!

I finished "The Sociopath Next Door" it was ok. Not much I didn't really already know. I wish they'd have used more case studies and less filler. I can see it being usefull for someone like my Aunt who believes everything someone tells her. I have a pretty good bullshit meter and I would only ever loan money our parents, kids or my bff.

Thanks for the review. I'll skip it. Sounds like it'd be too basic.

I'm reading Kill You Twice by Chelsea Cain. This is the 4th (?) in her series about a female serial killer. I really like the series and this one as well.

My favorite was her dedication in the front:

Mellen, I'm curious about The Expats too. I read the first few pages at the store the other day. It seemed interesting, but I got suspicious when she started going on and on about "the life we left behind", "the people we used to be", blah blah blah. It seemed like one of those huge buildups that tend to lead to disappointment.

Good to know that. I like her, but I find the fact that her main character is always pretty much the same really annoying. Write about someone with no weight issues for a change already!

Finished "The Book of Joe" by Jonathon Tropper. Next up is "Prophet's Prey"...about Warren Jeffs.

I finished The Expats and really liked it. Very twisty and the ending didn't piss me off, which I was afraid of. I'd recommend it.

I'm about 50 pages into Where'd You Go, Bernadette and I LOVE it. Its set in Seattle and is very black humor about family dysfunction. The writing is great.

Well, dammit, "Weighing In: Obesity, Food Justice, and the Limits of Capitalism" by Julie Guthman is due back at the library tomorrow, and I'm only about 1/3 done. It's on hold too, so I can't even renew it. It's still a little much for me, but I'm getting the gist of it and finding it interesting, as it's presenting a different take on the general topic of obesity and health than I've read before. I'll return it and probably put it on hold again right away. Hopefully the others in line don't take too long, so that I can start it up again without too much difficulty.

In the meantime I have "A Feast For Crows" by George R. R. Martin to start hopefully sometime this week.

I'm *DYING* for A Clash of Kings to come in at my library. I'm happy to see that the next 2 books don't have many holds on them so it shouldn't take as long!

I finishd Where'd You Go Bernadette last night. Totally enjoyed it. Loved the writing, it's a bit quirky and so is the story but I really liked it.

Next up is One Last Thing Before I Go by Jonathan Tropper.

Finished Where'd You Go Bernadette....one of my favorites for the year. I have never used the word "delightful" for a book but it really was. So silly and quirky too.

I have The Expats in my bag for skating tonight. And I got a mess of books off hold yesterday from the library.

Rowen, Glad you liked Bernadette. It's one of my tops books of the year so far. I'm sad I read it so fast.

I finished One Last Thing Before I Go by Jonathan Tropper. It was pretty good. It made me laugh and tear up at the same time in a few places.

Next up.......A CLASH OF KINGS!! By George R.R. Martin I just got the email that it's waiting on the hold shelf for me. Now cross your fingers that a landslide of holds don't come in over the next couple weeks. Maybe I should freeze them.
